Abs Well my abs light has been on for a few weeks but, my boyfriend decided to wash the engine a little after refilling my washer fluid and now my van does not work. The dash displays a message that Reduced engine power. And the van starts and idles but, the gas pedal does nothing. The car has no power whatsoever and cannot be driven. Possible after it sits a while and engine drys off will be fine. all you can really do is check connections and dry them off with air

Wind shield washing fluid, what is it made of?

washer fluid is simply clean fresh water with a grime busting additive added by you when refilling the bottle. Fill the bottle with clean fresh water and add the detergent in the proportion as on the bottle.( windscreen cleaner --not washing up detergent---too corrosive on the metal and paint work)

I have 2003 Grand Am and had trouble with the winshield washers not working. Then a few weeks later there was a clicking noise and my signal lights kept flashing inside the car. Both stopped shortly after....

When the check engine light comes on,The ABS system becomes disabled and so does Trac,You need the check engine light code,As for the windshield washer if the wiper work the pump is non operational,as for the signal light its cheaper to put a signal flasher on if that doesnt correct it you will need a multi switch.Unless you have a lot of money and let someone diagnosis the problem

The ABS light comes on in my 1997 dodge ram van and I have no troubleshooting info. Also I need to know the location of the control module.

Hello,
Here are a few common causes for the ABS, ( Anti-lock Breaking system ), light.

1. Check brake fluid level, sometimes this can trigger the light.

2. When your brake pads get worn down, this too can trigger the ABS light.
Often new brakes will correct the problem.

The control module, ( onboard computer system ), is generally located near the front of the engine compartment. Most have a large plug with many wires.

I hope this helps.

I HAVE A LIGHT ON AND I DON'T HAVE THE OWNERS MANUEL TO LET ME KNOW WHAT THE LIGHT MEANS ITS A RED BOX WITH A ARROW POINTING DOWN TOWARD WATER

That would be your engine coolant being very low. When the vehicle hits that you definitely should refill your engine coolant. The good thing is you can buy the coolant as a premix (usually 50/50) at most car stores.
Make sure you buy a few as you are very likely to be out. The longer you drive your vehicle while this is lit the more likely you are too damage it. So ensure to refill that right away. The coolant reservoir is the big yellow cannister on the passenger side above the windshield washer reservoir intake. It has a min and max level indicator on the side.
When refilling ensure that its at full then run your car for a little while for the fluid to be pumped into your radiator. If it was too much it may overflow a little don't be concerned about that but after running for a while with more coolant you will find your car running smoother and the light should turn off.

ABS Light illuminated on Van

ABS diagnostics requires a scan tool (Chrysler DRB II, DRB III or aftermarket equivalent). the plug is located near the brake pedal. this is the only alternative to get the ABS light off.

The BCM (body control module) is the problem, have it replaced, this is a common issue on your van.
