Change plugs now not getting any spark my daughter n law was in the car will I was changing the plugs turn the key to put window up now I can't get it to turn on

Do you get any lights on the dashboard turning on when you turn the key to run/start positions? Do you get any noise from the starter/solenoid when you turn the key to start? Do the headlights come on when you turn the light switch on (Could you have a dead battery? Check it.) Unlikely spark plugs and power window have any connection. More likely something else happened in between those two events. Try removing negative battery cable, keep off for 10 minutes, then reattach and try starting the car. If you have a diagnostic code reader, attach to the diagnosis port under the dash and turn the ignition key to run position. Read codes and see what the computer detects as the problem.

Troubleshooting ignition

this is not a no start, its a no crank
no car starts if it can crank, (unless you push(or gravity) start my jeep.
so whats got the slush pump A/T or the stick shift?

you turn the key , and the starter is silent. and stop guessing.
you then jumper cable start car and it what
FAILED, (rules out battery and charge system in 1 act)
so the starters bad or the key line is dead.
so you hot wire the starter solenoid and bam cranks.
so the starter was good, just 1min test with screwdriver hot wire act.
so the stater does crank when hot wired,
so you do these tricks.
not posting transmission really makes this hard but thats ok
no one post ever did....

8 ways from sunday

got an A/T do SAY! please.

Can't get the keys out the of the ignition in 2008 Cherokee

To free key fob from the ignition, disconnect the negative cable to the battery for 2 minutes. This will do a hard reset on the electronics. Key fob is free and back to normal.

Im having trouble starting my jeep when it starts i have to give a little starter fluid and it will run fine but acts like it starts loosing power truck eventually dies and when i try to start it turns...

I'm sending you a wiring diagram so you can get an idea of what your wiring routing is like. What I think you have is a regulator not inside the alternator but inside the computer. Therefore replacing the alternator will not help.
Charge the battery and have it load tested, then check the charging system. You should have at least 13.5 volts running. if not, check the wire between the battery and the alt for power. The computer sends a ground signal to the alternator through the black and white wire (check that on diagram...I'm doing this from memory) If you ground that wire the alt should charge the battery. DO NOT leave that wire grounded as a fix or it will boil all the water from the battery and turn it into a brick! If you find that works, and the wiring is intact, replace the computer. Usually you can find one at a reasonable price in a scrapyard. find the diagram at:
Good luck!

Jeep refuses to start

If you leave your battery out of your jeep for over 30-45 minutes it will start dumping codes from the computer. You will have to have it reprogrammed because of the security features in that vehicle. The best way to replace a battery is to jump it when it won't start, leave the vehicle running, and then hook up the new one.
