NO HEAT IN MY 02 GMC SONOMA top heater core hose is cool to the touch but the bottom one is hot..just replaced the intake gasket and stat and got all the air out

I would suggest jacking the front of the vehicle as high as you can to get the trapped air in heater core out through the system and thats the only way I know of doing it air will rise to highest spot (radiator) when it is jacked up higher than heater core..........Providing you hooked up your heater hoses the way they were when you took apart.

Heater and ac stopped working 1996 gmc sonoma there is a clicking noise when i turn the fan low to high and also the same sound turning switch from off to different blower settings but no air comes out...

probly the switch is burnt-it happens when the blower motor gits old and draws too many amps---so replace blower at same time or else same issue again--and while u gut dashboard all apart inspect ac evaporator and heater core-theyr aging too

About the heater core, in the manuel I bought at Auto zone, it gives all the steps and bolts necessary to unloose. The dash will swing out at the bottom, don't forget to remove the bolts under the speaker covers.

How do I get to the heater core in a 92 Sonoma so I can replace it?

Hello there,

The heater core is in the middle of the dashboard, near the floorboards. To get to it, some of the plastic fascia must be removed. The fascia is held in place with screws and wire clips. Remove the screws first, then pop the wire clips. Slide the fascia out, and locate the rectangular heater core housed beneath it.

Best regards...

The heater still won't work after I changed the thermostat on my

Get a female garden hose adapter from the local hardware store. Disconnect the heater hose from behind the fan pulley and attach the hose connection. Disconnect the other heater hose behind the alternator, aim it towards the ground and flush water through the heater core. This worked on my truck.
