I take it that it is a house recliner and not a car seat. Turn it on its side and inspect the hinges. They may need a little lube. wd40 is ok. A hinge may be obstructed or bent or have missing parts like a bolt or screw. Sometimes you can make adjustments by loosening and moving the hinges a little.
Hello The best thing to do here is to take the car to an automotive trim repair shop, the seat will need to have the cover taken off and an appropriate repair made, the trim shop would have the most experience with this type of repair and would also be the most cost conscious place to have it fixed. I have never had this question come up on this year and model so it is not a common issue that is for sure.
is it jammed upright or flat? if its the same problem mum had with her car.. i fixed it by sitting on the seat, holding button down and jerking the seat forward quickly (holding it so it didn't come away from the hinge) and as soon as it gives grease the hinge which should be visible via the boot and the lock. i hope i provided some help. :)
you will have to remove the seat and the cover to access the hinge, it may just be welded. If it cant be fixed, maybe find one in a salvage yard, If its not the right color, the covers will need to be changed.
crew cab,use a 50 torx in front bolts ,15mm on a ratchet on back bolts slide seat belt buckles throu seat crack ,fold rear of seat down ,lay seat with hinge toward floor slide out door (note watch brackets ,will scratch door pannals)
