1994 Buick Regal Custom - Overdirve quits after about 5-10 min driving
My car will run fine for about 5-10 mins, then all of a sudden the overdirve turns off. I'm running at 70 mph and 2200 rpm, then it jumps up to 3000 rpm. The overdirve will not work again until I turn the car off then start it back up. The malfunction then repeats itself. The othe thing I noticed is if I'm climbing an incline of about 3-4% at 40-45 mph the engine rpm will start ocillating like it can not decide which gear to use. I took it to a mechanic and he said something about TCC-70 or TCC-370 or something similar. Can anyone tell me a possible problem and what is that code or part? Thanks

It sounds like the ignition control module or the computer. both of these can run fine until they get warm then quit. Autozone and Advance Auto Parts can test the control module for free and tell you if it's good or bad
It sounds like the main fuse has blown out. Look for the fusebox in the engine compartment, and you should be able to tell by visual inspection which fuse has blown out. Remove it (a pair of pliers will help) and take it to an auto parts store to get a matching replacement.
I'd first start with, checking your battery cables at the
battery. Make sure you can't turn the connections on
the battery posts. If they turn, tighten them up. Second, check the black ground cable going to the
chassis. Make sure that it is tight, and not full of corrossion, under the terminal.
The average life of a battery is 3 good years, regardless how BIG, or how it cost. Anything after that is a blessing. Personally, I would replace the battery ASAP, and then with a FULLY CHARGED battery. Then drive, and see if the problem still remains. Hope this helps
