Clock the clock is getting hard to read. the whole right side of the clock is getting dark?

If the screeen is starting to go black then you need to order a new lcd display they are about 160 on emab and they come with the instruction's but if you cannot sodder then don't try it send it in to have someone else do it but if it is not going blank then yeah it is a light swist kind I think sell's them for like 1.29 each any color

You need to change your backlight globes, they are just little wedge globes behind the clock

I think there is a circuit breaker That is overloaded or faulty fit a amp meter in series , switch every thing on and note the reading. The circuit breaker needs to have a 10% higher rate than the reading you have just taken .

Here are the instructions I found and used on my 2004 Ody clock....

1. Here's the part you need to buy, Radio Shack part #272-1092. Despite Radio Shack's rip-off prices, this was only $1.49 for two micro lamps.

2. Disconnect the battery. Personally, I don't believe this step is necessary, but you can do it to be on the safe side.

3. Put on the emergency brake. With the engine off, shift down it into the lowest gear to give yourself some clearance.

4. Remove the panels to the left and right of the steering column. WEAR GLOVES! I found it easiest to start from the side closest to the steering column and pull from there. If you notice in the picture, I also removed the cap that covers the hole where a button is supposed to go. Use that hole to pull, too.

5. After you remove the left and right panels, you need to remove a total of 8 screws.

6. Once those screws are removed, the top panel can be pulled out. The part by the gauges is the hardest to remove. Just be careful with the plastic panels and work your way from the sides.

7. Behind the top panel, you'll notice two wires that connect to the hazard light and clock. You can unplug the clock easily, but the hazard light requires a small screwdriver to release the lock.



8. Remove the plastic housing that covers the clock. The lamp is located on the top left of the circuit board. It removes with a simple twist.


9. And after ALL that work, you can finally replace the lamp. I wish I took the picture with a penny to show a size comparison. It's a shame it requires all this work to get to a tiny lamp.


10 Replace your panels and screws and you're all done!!

Interior overhead light burned out. how do I remove the bulb and replace/car has sun roof/ light on clock is also burned out

If that clock is digital read out lights you might have to replace whole clock if not you will have to take dash apart to get to it,Overhead should have visable screws to take out to release lite cover,

I want to replace to dash clock in my 2005 subaru forester, the clock works but the light is out and you can not see it when its dark

The entire assembly housing the clock and upper storage compartment pops out. With a butter knife of thin flathead screwdriver simply insert at lower leaf or right side of assembly. Use a little force to pry up and the side of the assembly should pop. Repeat on the other side, remove assembly. From there, you should have access to the standard auto illumination bulb.

My driver's side window works, but none of my other windows work thru the main console..nor do the other 3 windows work from their addition, my clock doesn't works, but...

either window switch is turned off or you have a multiplex problem ..... as far as clock goes if your radio display is also dark you need to replace the circuit board inside radio or get a new radio

Clock inside car, mitsibishi carisma, works but the backlight doesnt work. hence cannot see clock in dark

The panel around the clock is held in place by 4 clips .
All we have to do is prise it out using a wide thin steel lever.
Dont use a screwdriver unless you want to damage the dashboard.
It comes out directly towards the rear of the car.
You can then get to the bulb on the back without taking off the
wire to the heater , There is Just enough space to do this.
you need a small screwdriver to take the bulb holder out.

Please take a good look at the display, it may work.
Often there's only yhe backlight of the display which doesn't work.
You only have to replace some small lamps behind the display module.

Changing the clock

The two buttons on the bottom right are HR and MIN hard to read. with car on and radio off pushin and hold the RCL TUNE button for about 10 sec. then push and hol the MIN button till it changes or beeps.
