SOURCE: drive axle and cv joint
the shaft and the ball cage are already off. the inner piece that goes into the gearbox is not coming out. the boot was changed and I now need to reassemble the parts.
SOURCE: 2004 camry, vibration right front
If the wheel is in balance and there is no other signs of what is causing the vibration than yes that cv joint should be chk. Is the strut ok? might want to chk. that too.
SOURCE: I'm preparing to remove front right axle shaft (Cv half shaft)
It is held in by a spring ring. You need a good strong pry bar and you position it between the hub of the axel and the case of the trans and **** hard pulling it out. It sometimes is seated well, but keep trying. It will fight you sometimes.
Hope this helps.
Testimonial: "Thanks a bunch. I wanted to make sure I wasn't mistakenly trying to pry a snap ring off. Took long enough to get the axle nut off easy from here."
SOURCE: the right side inner cv joint cup is wobbley, is
to find this out hold with both hands the cv joint pull on the inner shaft when holding the outer shaft still if it moves a lot its the joint, if it dont move much, its not the joint so then pull on the outer part of the joint that go's into the gearbox, dont hold the shaft only hold the inner most part of the cv joint that go's into the box if it moves/ flops about its the bearing in the gear box
Testimonial: "your advise was great, thanks. I took the half shaft off, and there is alot of play in the splined shaft of the transmission. thanks again"
