1998 jetta key will not turn to allow headlights and windshield wipers work, it it intermittent ,but has lately got worse

If a different key doesnt work and try to wiggle the steering wheel back and forth and see if that helps if not you will need to replace your key switch

Try getting a new key cut or try your spare.
If not, i'm thinking that your whole keyhouse needs to be replaced.

Windshield wipers work intermittently


If the wipers have a delay, turn it off. Another cause could be an overheating wiper motor.

VW Jetta fan, wipers, headlights work until engine starts. Then they do not always function.


I would suspect you have a defective ignition starter switch, this is the main switch the the ignition key cylinder operates and it powers up the while electrical system,. It is under the steering column covers.

Mercedes c230 windshield wiper starts on its own


Car has rain sensing windshield.Most likely you have the wiper on/off level in the intermittent position,which turns on the sensor. When the sensor detects moisture or even dust sometimes. It turns on wipers. Just make sure the wipers are off and not in the intermittent position.
