Power Windows not working

Hi,

I have a problem with my Nissan maxima 1994 power windows. None of them are opening up.. I had a problem last year with the front right side window not closing (from the open position), and I got that fixed. Now, I have this problem with none of the windows opening.

Any suggestions..

Thanks

Shravan

My Power Windows not working. There is no fuse for the windows in the fusebox on the left of the steering column. Please tell me where the fuse is located. Thanks

I too, have the same problemo! My windows would work, then not work, sometimes even working by themselves. Kinda freaky! None of the switches work on any of the doors, my driver's window is stuck in the down position. Considering none of the other switches work, could the driver's side switch be my problem? A blown fuse makes more sense to me, but the fuse under the hood seems to be okay. Any suggestions?

Where is the mega fuse located? My battery wasnt charging either and my passenger windows and locks as well as stereo has stopped working.

I had the same problem with my 94 maxima. I bought a used power window switch and replaced it. Works like new. Took me about 5 minutes.

I assume you checked the power windows fuse. If that's ok, then you probably blew the mega fuse. This happened to me recently and my power windows stopped working. The alternator also stops charging the battery and if you take a reading it appears the alternator is bad. I replaced mine, only to find out it was a $5 fuse instead of a bad alternator.

If none of the windows are working you should check the fuse in the fuse compartment.

Power window not working 1994 nissan maxima

First check the fuse, then the power window switch, then the power window motor. More than likely it's the power window switch.

Power window problem

On my girlfriend's Civic, the same problem cropped up and it was the driver's door switch assembly. The power for all the windows is routed to the driver's door switches, and from there, out to the other doors (that's how the window lock on the driver's door is able to shut off the window power in the back doors). If your driver's door switch assembly has failed, you'd have no power to the windows, regardless of which switches you're trying to use. I'd suggest going to a salvage yard and finding a new driver's door switch assembly and swapping it into your car and see if that fixes it. It shouldn't run you more than $15 or so, and they're generally pretty easy to swap out - figure a few basic tools and maybe a half hour or 45 minutes of your time.
