I have the same problem. I bled the system, and dont need to lube the pins on a new caliper. I also have replaced the master cylinder and rear proportoning valve which was leaking. Going to try the brake hose next.

If install done correctly, proper lube etc, and still sticking, I'd change flex line to caliper.

You should also try bleeding the whole system that way system works together, front and back with time you start to build up junk in the system

Generally you must put anti seize on the pins that hold the outer part of the caliper on. be liberal with it this should allow the caliper to slide better. please rate this

Just got new brakes new rotors on my front wheels The problem is that the drivers side brake is sticking. I took it back and they told me it needed a new 'caliper'. They put it in and it's still sticking?...

This may be caused by an internally collapsed brake hose allowing fluid to go to the caliper but not allowing fluid to return back to the master cylinder.

Brakes are wearing uneven. driver side brakes are engaging but passenger side is not

Either the caliper is bad or there is air in the line.I would pull the wheel off and have someone pump the breaks and see if the breaks try to move then try bleeding them out before I spent the money on a new caliper.

Replacing front brake brake calipers and bleeding them

jack up car and remove wheels, use a stick to depress brake pedal about an inch this will keep fluid from running out during replacement, loosen bleeder screws to relieve pressure, then ddisconnect brake hose at caliper, replace the calipers and reinstall hoses with new gaskets, remove brake hold down and bleed passenger side then drivers side.

Driver side front brake rubs and overheats. brake

It sounds like the caliper slides themselves are sticking, remove your caliper and check that the caliper slides are lubricated and that the caliper slides easily on them

Sticking rear brake caliper 2002 mondeo 1.8

Is the piston sticking in the caliper or is the caliper sticking on the outside slides preventing it from moving to the disc?

Just put new brake caliper on front driver side

Gravity bleed caliper, just open valve and have a coffee break and close it. Did you buy a loaded caliper with new pads on it? Check the rear wheel cylinders they may be the cause of your mushy pedal. They are cheap too.

Front Brakes

Interesting, disc brakes don't normally stick. Since there is no tension pressure against the pads like drum brakes.

You indicated you replaced the right caliper and the master cylinder, but no mention of the disc or the piston (Some caliper assemblies are all in one, some are not.)

Here are some thoughts:

Disc is contaminated with oil, grease, brake fluid etc, when you brake, it is absorbed by the pad, gets hot and sticks.

You didn't replace left caliper, piston isn't working well, sending all pressure to right side.

You didn't indicate, new, used or rebuilt caliper. If used, get anew/remanufactured SET of calipers and either semi-mettalic or ceramic pads, and new rotors (I used to get rotors turned, but new replacements are now generally cheaper that turning old ones. When working with brakes I always recommend you work them as a set, regardless of how good the other side looks.

Make sure you clean the rotors with a solvent to ensure any grease or anti-rust agent is removed and dry will with several paper towels.

When installing pads, ensure you do not touch the braking surface of the pad or the rotor, body oil can contaminate too.
Make sure that the siding surface of the caliper is lubricatred with silicone grease designed for calipers (little packets are available at your parts store) On my GM Cars, it is the bolts that mount the caliper, but this varies by caliper design

Hope that is
