You will be needing to disassemble the whole rear door or lid. Inside you may find a plastic part broken. You should find a lot of plastic clips holding it all together, which clips will break when you start to take the door apart. Which clips may be very hard to find replacements, unless you go to Hyundai. Be blessed.
We, meaning my husband and me as helper) rather than breaking the interior panel, which a replacement is difficult to find, removed the broken outside door handle, and maneuvered the rod manually, simulating the movements of the door handle. The door opened and we clicked the child lock off and then replaced the exterior handle.
The fluid leaking out the rear seal of the master cylinder has likely swelled/damaged the rubber diaphragm in your brake booster, causing the hissing sound. Unfortunately, you will need to replace your booster.
most hyundais are a 16 pin conector located under the steering wheel somewhere (fuse box, under dash, behind panel right hand side of steering wheel) or in the centre under the handbrake or just behind park brake under a cover.
You have a broken window regulator. It looks similar to the picture below. The pplastic guides fro the cables break and cause the cables to just "pop" and "crunch" , but the window won't move. DORMAN makes aftermarket replacements for all of the doors in your vehicle. (they are all different) They are avilable at many parts distributors including CarQuest and AutoZone.
The shift lock solenoid attached to the interiors shifter near the cable is at fault You need to replace it or disengage all apperatis to eliminate its functions This solenoid is used only when you apply your foot on the brake so it releases to shift. It will be located inside the console near the gate for the park lock area. I always disconnect the plastic arm and remove it so I never need to depress the brake to shift
first thing i need to know is did the timing belt break? second is are you sure you aligned the timing marks and after the belt tensioner was tight you rechecked to make sure the timing stayed where you had it. next step would be a compression check to if a valve was bent whenchanging the belt i have seen this happen and this engine is an interferance engine. later paul
