95 Honda Accord Power Window Broken

We just replaced the window regulator less than a week ago & it already broke. The window is three inches down and won't move in either direction. Could there have been another problem we overlooked?

I have a 95 Honda Accord. The drivers side window scrapes sometimes when it goes up and down. When I brought it in to the dealership it did not do it; of course, and they won't take it apart if it isn't making the noise. I spoke to my general mechanic and he told me it was the window regulator. My warranty is up in October. What can I do?

The regulater may be going because the rubber window trim is probably dry from age and creates friction, you can buy new rubber seals for 140.00 or you can sray the rubber trim with SILICONE spray lube not WD 40 only SILICONE spray and you will find that there will be no resistance. I learned this from my cousin who is the head of Honda Service Canada

    good luck, Accordgord

Yep, most common reason is a phisical obstruction inside the door panel, remove the door panel and have a look.
If it is the window regulator, that had gone faulty again, then check the wiring for a possible short.

I have a 95 Honda Accord four-door. Drivers door power window will not work. I have replaced the motor and I have taken apart the master window switch and cleaned the terminals. Looking for the relay fuse...

Use a test light and check if getting power on that hot wire at the connection to motor. Check it back to the fuse panel by holding the down button if window up and vice-versa. Since motor was replaced, You know it's good but no power to it. It's got to be a broken wire or unplugged somewhere. Find that spot with a test light. ALL you can do is test it till you find that broken spot.

New power window regulator installed, now window goes up to top then comes back down half way and stops. How to adjust?

It is important to learn how to fix a Honda Accord window if you have an older Honda Accord. Although the Honda Accord is renowned for being a durable vehicle, the electric window motor regulators in older models can wear out over time. This is noticeable when you hear sounds coming from the window when you attempt to use it but the window won't move. But don't worry, you can use these steps to fix a broken window in your Honda Accord.

To fix a Honda Accord window, you will need:
  • A Phillips screwdriver
  • A flathead screwdriver
  • A wrench set
  • A black marker
  • Masking tape
  • A new Honda Accord electric window regulator
  1. Remove the screws securing the door panel from the inside of the vehicle. These screws are beneath the arm rest. Release the door panel by prying it away from the front of the door. Work your way back by prying off the top and sides of the panel and the back of the panel.
  2. Remove the clips holding the door panel using a flathead screwdriver to pinch them together. Remove the panel by sliding it upward and away from the door.
  3. Remove the two bolts securing the window to the regulator. Note the position where the bolts secure the windows. When you re-install the window you will need to adjust them similarly. Making a small mark on the window with a black marker is a good way to easily keep track of the correct position.
  4. Lift the window directly up and remove it from the car door. Secure it using masking tape if you prefer not to remove it completely.
  5. Remove the bolts securing the window motor and guide. Remove the window motor and guide and set them aside.
  6. Remove the regulator from the power window motor assembly. Dispose of the old regulator and install the new unit.
  7. Re-attach the window motor and guide to the door by following the removal instructions in reverse. Test the new window regulator by turning on your ignition switch and moving the window up with the electric switch.
take it back apart somethings not tight

My 1992 honda accord passenger side rear window will not close all the way. it goes up and down but stops about 1 inch short of closing all the way.

It sounds like you need a new window regulator. They are kind of expensive but you can always find one at a junk yard. I had one of those cars and both my rear windows did the same thing. I wound up having to replace the window regulators for both sides.

Power window on a 97 honda accord wont go up

possibly your power window regulator is out. basically check the fuses first to make sure you have not blown that, if it is good, then you can order a new window regulator from the dealer or online @ autopartswarehouse.com. to replace the window regulator you will need to will need to remove the door panel, start with the screws on the handle and the arm rest, covered with a plastic cap. the door panel which can be pryed from the bottom with a flat blade screw driver or flat pry bar, it will make a snapping sound. three bolts on the regulator 4 bolts on the window tracks and 2 bolts securing the window, re assemble as you have taken apart, Good Luck!!

1993 passenger back window will not go up or down,

if all other windows are working i would check for power to the one motor that is not working. also check the switch for the one window that is not working. if the switch is bad , it will stop the master switch from working.

See that your fuses are okay.

Check the fuse box in the hood and under the driver side.
