Why does my 1999 90 horsepower johnson idle but bogs down when accelerating

if this is a 2 stroke and went under water the problem may be damaged reed valves on the inlet side of the crankcase. Working all right when the air flow is low but do not seal of properly at rpms.. Suggest that you have an accredited outboard specialist look at it.

My jeep jump and bucks and acts like its bogging down when im just cruising down the road... what is the problem?

try replacing the coil with a new one. also find the pcm and when its running wiggle each one of the 3 main connectors to the pcm. this is a very common issue with jeeps of this vintage. if it stalls or cuts out you found the problem. bad pcm

My 1988 taurus sat up for a while ... well ive run into a problem i cant seem to fix ... its hard to explain this but its like it wants to bog down then pop or backfire and after it sits all night its like...

you say it wants to put you on the side of the road...I assume you mean it stalls. Have you ever changed the fuel filter? The EGR, PCV Try the little things first.

Just inherited a 1984 civic wagon it starts wont idle and after it stalls it wont start again without being primed. I kept it running and drove around the block and it stalled and wouldnt restart even...

i assume its a carb motor. if so i would first check the vacuum box for broken or loose lines, if the problem isnt there i would look to see if there is a loose wire by your thermostat. if theres a wire ground it to the thermostat bolt. these have both worked when the same thing happened to me.

My van stalls for no reason going down the road

You should probably start by changing the fuel filter. As for your other purchase, i would call around and get estimates first. Personally, i avoid many dodges like the swine flu, and i used to be the biggest dodge fan around. I still am a fan of the old ones, but neons, caravans, spirits... disposable. That's just my opinion, some people think they are great.

Starter kick back

If this is a gas engine, check the ignition coil or plug wires. A simple test...

Start the truck at night, then look under the hood while it's running. Don't use a flashlight or your headlights; it should be dark !

If you see sparks anywhere around the engine, you've found the problem. Now you can turn on a light to see where they're coming from - probably from a cracked ignition coil.

Good luck !
