1986 Toyota 4Runner Wire Problem for Starter

Hi,

I have a 1986 4Runner with a 22re fuel injected engine I'm putting back in the car after removing it a couple of years ago. My only problem is there is a group of 3 wires, 2 white & 1 red about 16 gauge I think going of the harness near the starter area. These wires are held together by ring terminal(terminal is more rectangular in shape and seems to be made out of copper) does it go on the starter post?

Any help would be great

Thanks,

Steve

I cant find my fuel filter on my 1985 toyota 4runner i looked along the frame rails from the tank to the motor 22re all i could find was a canister 3 times the size of my fuel filter they gave me it had...

The filter is well hidden from casual view. It is bolted to the passenger side of the engine block. It is above the starter and under the intake manifold. The filter is very hard to change. Depending on your skills as a contortionist and tools on hand, you may have to remove the both the oil filter and starter to get to it.

LOCATION OF FUEL FILTER ON A 1985 TOYOTA FOUR RUNNER\r\nWITH A 22RE ENGINE

It is well hidden. You can find it by laying under the front of the vehicle and looking up at the engine block on the passenger side just above the starter. It is bolted to the block directly above the starter and just below the intake manifold. This is not an easy job. Depending on you skills as a contortionist and tools on hand, you may have to remove the starter and the oil filter to get to it.

I have a 1990 toyota 4runner sr5! There is a black and white wire that goes to the starter that has power to it! Half way down this wire there is an encased diode or something and another wire comes up...

Check this wiring diagrams...

Where is the fuel filter located on my 86 4wd (22re)

You're going to laugh when you hear this...not! It's under the intake manifold, bolted to the side of the engine block. It's a real pain to do.

Check to see if the 15 amp EFI fuse is blown.
This fuse controls the ECU and the injection.
