I just need to know where is the neutral safety switch located on the 1998 Lincoln Town Car. I was told that it is located on the alternator, but where?

If you are referring to the switch that won't let you start the engine if the shifter isn't in NEUTRAL or PARK it is usually at the bottom of the shifter hope this helps.....cheers.

Yes there is a starter relay in the wiring diagram. The yellow and lite blue wire goes from the starter solenoid to the relay. There is a yellow wire from the relay to a 30amp fuse. The key switch powers thru the neutral safety switch and then powers the relay on.
you have a problem with posibly witht he adjustment on you neutral switch. the transmission has this to prevent starting in gear. it obviosly works fine in newtral so it needs to be adjusted or the lever on your transmission needs adjust ment to allow this sensor to do its job
