I have power window switches on both the driver and passenger panels. Passanger window does not move. I checked the passanger switch and have 12 volts to switch; however, on the brown wire to the motor no power. Thinking the problem is in switch. However before I replace the switch I was wondering why the switch on the drivers side doesn't open the window. I know there are 5 wires to the switch and does one of them come from the drivers door swich and bypass the passenger switch to the motor. Finally how do I definative determine if the switch is bad? thanks CB

My passanger front window is stuck in the down position. Could this be the window switch?

The same thing happend with my 94 lesabre. I thought it was the switch but i realized that the switch was fine. I went at the junk yard and got my self a power window motor. That is proboably what is wrong with your windows. I recommend that you get yourself new or used window motors and that sould do it!

Best of luck

2000 ford f250 passanger side window wont go up

Check the wires on the driver's door between the door and the post. A break in a wire will affect the passenger side.

1998 VW Jetta GLS Manual Trans. The driver side power window won't roll down. From the same switch the front passenger window won't up but will roll down. The passenger side switch works fine; passanger...

If you have a multimeter you can go to the underside of the master panel in the drivers door and independently check the switches for voltage or with no power to the switch assembly check for continuity. Good place to start. If you get continuity to through the switch then you need to check power to the window actuators in the doors.

My 2001 venture van passenger power window will power down, but not up....driver switch has no response now to passenger door window ?

Now you do not have any response at all up, or down ?
I would say fuse has been blown to that side, but the bigger problem is that I believe the window motor more than likely has failed.
You will have to remove the door pad and using a volt meter find if you have 12 volts to the motor while operating the switch.
If you have 12 volts, then I would say motor is bad.
If you do not have 12 volts, then I would trace wiring back to switch, look for continuity.
Please let me know what you find.

Driver side power window not working. how do you know if its a switch or motor. I have door panel off and hoped to use passanger side switch to make sure before i replace motor.

you can test the voltage that comes out of the switch, if no voltage, then switch is bad. If there is 12 volts coming out then the motor is bad or dirty.

Passanger window does not go down from driver power window switch

The control switch on the drivers door is bad if the window rolls down using the passenger switch
