A new hose will come with gaskets or "o" rings. Simply remove the old hoses, install the "o" rings on the ends of the hoses and then install the hoses. Tighten by hand, check for leaks and tighten as needed to stop leaks.

I have a Audi a4 2011 with a seal leaking on the rite for my power steering can the seals be replaced.

Yes... but please clarify- is the steering rack leaking (which has seals where the shafts extend out to the tie rods, within the rubber corrugated boots)- or is one of the hose connections leaking? Either can be replaced, though the hose is much easier than the steering rack seals.

Power steering hose keeps breaking, even when replaced by high pressure hoses. Replacing rack and pinion does not help either.

A bad seal in the rack and pinion would have caused low pressure from fluid by-passing the seal. This also would have caused noticeably increased effort to steer the vehicle. Excessively high pressure would indicate an issue between the power steering pump and the rack, and since the hoses have been replaced I would focus on the pump. PS, find a real mechanic, not a parts changer.

Power steering leaking

Hi Kirk, I'm glad to help!
Kirk, power steering leaks can come from any part of the power steering system. Fluid can leak from seals on the hoses, the hoses themselves, the power steering pump, the power steering gear assembly, usually leaks from the seals at the end of the gear behind the long boots. These are a few things you can check and see what part you need to replace. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Kirk.

Mazda 6 2006 2.3 power steering

Hi Kirk, I'm glad to help!

Kirk, I see you have a power steering leak but the problem is there are a lot of places a leak can come from. Sometimes it leaks from the front seal on the pump itself, if this is the cases then replace the pump. Other times one of the hoses can be leaking, that's an easy one simply replace the hose that's leaking. The serious cases is when the Steering Rack itself is leaking usually behind the rubber boots at each end of the rack. This is where the seals are and when they start leaking the only way to fix it is to replace the Steering Rack. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Kirk.

Rack and pinion leaking steering fluid what should i do

is it a hose or the seals? if it is a hose the only thing to do is replace the hose. if it is the seal you can fill it with brake fluid and it might soften the seals and make them stop leaking if not you will have to replace the Whole rack. I have used brake fluid to stop leaks on many cars and trucks on the power steering and the transmissions and have never had a problem

My 2006 chevy impala has a massive power steering fluid leak, so my power steering goes out. This problem is solved when there is fluid in the system. Do i need to replace the entire power steering pump?...

you just need to check your steering pipes and hoses for any leaks. just replace them if a leak is found. if your reservoir itself has a leak, then your only best bet is to replace the whole ting ..

Power steering leak

Check the pump front seal, Wipe down the hoses and check the crimp fittings for leakage Also look carefully at the steering gear, the fitings and pitman arm seal ( this one is on the bottom) and the seal where the steering column goes in.
