How do i change the rear differential oil on my 2011 Ford Ranger

remove the rear cover all the bolts except the top 1 just loosen that 1. Put a bucket under the rear diff and open the diff cover and drain out the fluid. clean and reseal the diff. remove the plug on the front of the diff and fill with the correct diff fluid until it is filled up to the hole and replace the plug, clean up and check for leaks. No leake = job is complete.

When i engage the four wheel drive on my 1993 ranger it sound like the brakes are draging

Check the fluid in the case, and also, after engaging, turn the truck off, and climb under to make sure nothing is hitting/rubbing. Just to sort of isolate the issue, you have engaged the case, and the sound only happens when in 4wd. It is either the inside of the case, the output bearing toward the front differential, or the front differential itself which would be really rare. Just double check your fluid. I just rebuilt one that had an unknown hole and it costs a fortune. Thanks.

How do i add transmission fluid into a 1993 Ford Ranger?

Automatic Transmission?

The fluid level needs to be checked with the engine running, the vehicle on a level surface, and the transmission in park. Remove the Transmission dipstick, wipe clean, and reinsert. Immediately pull it out again and check the fluid level. If it is not where it should be fluid can be added through the dipstick tube. A half a quart can make a big difference in fluid level so start small.

It will take a while for the new fluid to clear out of the tube to get an accurate reading after you add the new fluid.

Can someone please tell me where the differential fluid goes or differential switch is on a 2004 Buick Rendezvous. Some one told me my problem was the differential fluid and someone else says its a...

I would tell the repair shop what is happening and let THEM diagnose and recommend what to do. Dont take it to any chain store, take it to a dealer or at least a shop that does a lot of GM work and has experience with your type of vehicle.

The clutch fluid is not going through it keeps backing up and due to the clutch fluid i can't shift into gears, one person said it was the sleeve i dont know if i can believe him

If it is a Hydraulic clutch, it could be the clutch master cylinder, it would much like the brakes do, if the valving goes bad, it will go into bypass, and hence no Clutch pressure, also note that excessive water absorption in the fluid will do the same thing. Water hates to be compressed and cant be detected in Brake fluid. ( one reason I hate brake fluid).

What kind of oil do I put into the transfer case? Is that why the computer keeps saying check 4 wheel drive?

no, DO NOT use gear oil. The transfer case uses the same type of automatic transmission fluid that the transmission uses. Is the display saying "service 4x4 switch"? If so it is common and the 4WD indicator light switch is bad and needs replaced. It's only purpose is to tell the driver info center what 4 wheel drive mode the transfer case is in. This switch will not affect the function of the 4 wheel drive. The correct fluid for the transfer case is +4 automatic transmission fluid.
