The main relay on 1992 Accords are considered a dual relay. It controls both the ECU and the fuel pump in tandem.

The fuel pump usually has it's own relay. You may need to check the ground wire for good contact.

SOURCE: Has anyone had a main relay problem with the 1999 honda accord?

It can be a faulty replay or your pump may be going bad. If this happens check first if there is gas coming out of the fuel filter or to the hose before it. It could also be caused by a clogged fuel filter. If there is no gas going to the fuel filter, have the relay for your fuel injection checked out. It is located under the driver side dash. Check also if you have any issues if your pump when directly connected to the battery.

try tapping on it a bit or banging on it, but before you do, let me tell you that you need a new fuel pump or the hose could have something in it blocking flow or something.

SOURCE: My honda civic 1998 model fuel pump failed and I changed it

The PGM Main relay is outboard of the glove box. You can see it if you get the glove box out of the way, but to remove it, you need to pop the triangular shaped plastic trim off of the end of the passenger side of your dash. The relay is held in place with one 10mm bolt and the electrical connector.

Have a 1991 Accord that is turning over but will not start. , already change fuel filter still no gas flow. Should I change the relay before I change the the fuel pump? Where is the fuel pump relay switch...

i dont recommend you throw away money like that because 50 is a lot less then 300 plus labor, its still alot. what did you do to check that there was no fuel pressure? did you check your ecu/main relay fuse? and is there no fuel pressure at all? if there is no fuel pressure at all, it would most likely mean a bad main relay. well eithr way, here go the instructions:

Where is fuel pump main relay

Grab a Haynes manual #42014 and on page 4-4 it explains how to test the main relay. The main relay is located up under the instrument panel, attached to a bracket on the left side of the steering column. Also, check the number 1 fuse or the ACG S fuse found in the engine compartment. Both of these fuses are 15 amp.

The Fuel pump relay is part of the EFI main relay and can not be replaced separately. The EFI main relay is located behind the dash, left of the steering wheel.
