The accessories on 4.3 gm is what they call a horse shoe so all of the pumps etc. that are run by the belt need to be removed(except water pump in most cases)most of the bolts go thru the bracket in to the heads so you wont find too many down on the lower part of the engine.
hope this helps....good luck!

I need to know how to change the water pump on a 1993 ford ranger i have all the bolts out but one because the pully brakit is in front of it and i can not figure out how to get it off.

YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THE ALTERNATOR AND BRACKET AND REMOVE AC COMPRESSOR AND BRACKET AND REMOVE POWER STEERING PUMP AND BRACKET.THEN YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO REMOVE WATER PUMP BOLTS.

Belt broke stering has gone tight-which belt do i need audi a4 1996

Give the model and year at an autoparts store and ask for a power steering belt. Will likely be running the waterpump and alternator too so you cant drive far because you will overheat the engine and or flatten your battery.
Loosen alternator bracket all bolts and move it to the shortest distance to the nearest pulley wheel. Slide belt around all free wheels and idlers (tensioning wheels) and move alternator bracket back to original position so belt is tight.
If you cant get the belt on belt is too short, if it is not tight with alternator about half way along the adjustment bracket belt is too long. Take it back to store, act real grumpy, try to leave with right size belt and a free gift.

Alternator bracket broke and can not get to last bolt to get it off to have welded. Any suggestions appreciated.

Is this the bracket that has the power steering pump under the alternator? If so the power steering pump has to be removed to remove bracket. To remove power steering pump you have to remove the pump pulley with a special tool and then press it back on with another tool. Both tools can be rented at your local Advanced auto parts store.

Lost power steering and brakes

I'd say you broke a serpintine belt if you lost them both at the same time. Check your belts and see if you're missing one... You should have breaks and steering, just manual... hard to steer and brake...

Location of power steering reservoir

This pump sits down below tha alternator. If it does not have a remote resevoir than the resevoir sits on top of the pump. It is a pain to get to.
