Check the spark plugs, to ensure that it is not a distribution problem.

On fuelling check that fuel has enough pressure, and that air filter is ok and air intake is not obstructed.

If the problem is nor fixable with regular maintainance like the operations above, then you will need to connect a code reader to the car ECU (computer) , and start troubleshooting from the error ccodes that you get.

Check also fuel injection service, clean the
throttle bore, idle air passages and idle air control
motor. Also replace the fuel filter and air filter.

This is a very common problem with the Saturn. It's a bad ignition switch. You need to replace it.

Google on common saturn problems and you'll see that hundred of Saturn owners have had this very problem.

It's really amusing how each dealer prances around it and doesn't tell their customers that it's a common problem. If you bring it to them they will know right away what the problem is but they may pretend not to know right away...EVERY Saturn dealer has fixed this on dozens and dozens of their vehicles...

Torque converter 2002 saturn had it checked and read stuck/off

you can check to see if the torque is stuck on or off with a dealer (saturn/GM)scanner butother than that you gonna have to do it this way,,,if the car starts and you put it in drive and it doesnt stall that means you not lock in TCC torque converter clutch,,,ive never just reaplaced a converter,,,its gonna need a trans rebuild or a new trans,,and the extended warranty is no longer valid since gm dropped saturn, they are not liable anymore,,,,sorry ,,

Will not start after it stalls untill about 5-10 minutes

spray carb cleaner on the intake manifold near cylinder 1... common problem is the intake manifold gasket leaks vacuum causing a misfire...the not starting could be due to a faulty crank sensor

Will not start after it stalls untill about 5-10 minutes

This sounds like a plugged evap valve. Try opening the gas cap when this happens. If the evap system is malfunctioning, it will use gas, but will not let air back in to replace the liquid leaving the tank thus collapsing the tank and cutting off fuel. It then takes a while to break the vacuum in the tank. If the car starts right away when you open the gas cap, have your evap system serviced by a professional. Another quick diagnosis is to take a look at the fuel tank. If it has been collapsed there will be small creases in it.

I just had this problem on a 97 Saturn.

Intermitent high idle

Have your timing checked. Retarded timing can cause the issues you have. A quick adjustment could fix it.
