Question about 1996 Acura Integra GS-R

1996 Acura Integra LS

Hi, I have a 1996 Acura Integra LS 2 Dr. Hatchback. 40,000. Miles, bought new January 1997. Drive very little. In mint condition inside and out. All maintenance has been kept up. Problem NOW...Recently took car to Goodyear and had my tires rotated. Left shop and now my front bounces up and down A LOT. Goodyear told me it's because I need new tires. Next I went to Discount Tire Shop and bought 4 new tires/balanced/etc. My car still does the same. What could Goodyear have done to cause my front end to bounce to the point if feels dangerous to drive? Thank you very much for your help.

Hi castletowery, Thanks for your quick reply. Just got another reply from a different site. They said Goodyear might have bent the front rims. I never had any bouncing until Goodyear rotated my tires. Do you think they could of damaged something? It seems odd to have no problems until I took it in. Thanks!! :-)

Great info. Will take this knowledge to Goodyear.

They have offered to check under my car, after I called the manager today. My car bounced up and down in the front a lot and bottomed out about 5 times on my way home, back from their shop. Very scary, glad I have a friend to drive it/me back to them this coming Monday. I'm too afraid to drive it. Driving with constant front bouncing and hitting pavement when driving is too much for me to handle. I really felt like I was going to lose control over the car. Too much excitement for me! :-)

God Bless you, your help. I'll let you know what they say.

Good Morning Castletowery, Went back to Goodyear in Arlington Texas and they denied everything and tried to charge me over $700.00 for front struts. Per a referral I took my car to Meike and got the work done for $440.00 + tax. Mechanic showed me old struts, how they would not move at all. Very dangerous he said. Filing a complaint with BBB concerning Goodyear. I will never go to another one again. I strongly believe Goodyear damaged them when they jacked up my car, had NO problems until they did. Thanks again, very much for your help.

Need to replace the strut

Sometimes when shocks or struts are not moved for extended periods of time they can get damaged after being extended fully like being jacked up to change a tire.It may have blown a seal in the shock so now it can't operate properly. I do not think the wheel could have been bent bad enough to where a tire could not be balanced.I do alot of offroading and have bent many wheels and could still balance a tire with no vibration.

I have a 94 acura integra ls & now air is coming out of the vents

Check all of the fuses related to the air conditioning. That is where I would start. Normally the AC has its own set of fuses and relays.

Acura Integra ID

there should be a sticker around the driver door that will tell you. if that fails you can always write the VIN down and search it most times the basic info is free (ie: make/mode/MFG year)
