It has happened while normal driving and today while just sitting in front of the shop idling.

This happens to me also at a stop light and sometimes while driving. I just put it in neutral or park and start up again. Thought it was my fuel filter, so I changed it, but it still happens from time to time.

My 2000 Caravan dies at least once a trip. It dies when I slow to turn or to stop. No lights come on. Though it restarts immediately.

I have a 1996 GC LE that has 134K on its 3.3. I've replaced the cam position sensor, the belt tensioner, the belt, the headlight assemblies, and various other items. I love to look at the $2,000+ receipts from the previous owner. The dang thing dies. It flat out dies when it’s a bit cold, or sometimes after I’ve driven it for a while. One time I was goin up hill under acceleration and …..dead. The fuel filter was just replaced, as were the plugs (platinum).

It has no outstanding codes whatsoever so I’m baffled. Thank God it’s just used to take our dogs from place to place.

    PS Go Kasey Kayne!

As vehicle warms up it dies

I've never heard of O2 sensor doing that. Does it run rough before it dies? Does it restart after it quits? Do you see black smoke out the tail pipe before it dies or after it restarts? The O2 sensors look like a spark plug with a wire coming out of the top and screw into the exhaust.

Was driving my 97 dodge caravan, and it just quit on me, whats the problem?

If the check engine light is on do the following.

insert ignition key into the ignition.

turn the key as follows.

off-on, off-on, off-on. ( on is when the dash lights come on, off is one click back from on)

service codes will flash out in pairs of numbers on the check engine light. 5-5 is the end of the test.( the codes may display on the odometer if its digital) write down the codes and google the findings.

you may have just run out of gas ;-)

2000 dodge caravan sputters and dies when comming to stop restarts ok takes back off untill you stop again

You will have to check the MAP sensor. It's like the o2 sensor. It's the reason our 2000 Caravan had issues for dying and some acceleration probs. New wires and plugs will help, too.

2002 dodge caravan car dies

You need to get it scanned to see what those codes are. Autozone, Pep Boys and other big autoparts stores will usually scan for free. If codes don't tell you what is obviously wrong, get back to us with them & we'll help you out.

The switches should no be doing that at all.
The system has to get checked out. The body control module could be going out. There could be a short in the vehicle wiring harness some where.
