Horn not working

My horn has suddenly stopped working. I found this out when another BMW tried to turn into me. How can I fix this? I am experimenting the same problem, however the stering wheels controls for the radio, and the phone are not working either, I belive that it all is conected somhow... my guess is that it was disconected by someone as i gought the car like that but didn't notice it until I had to use the horn...
I have checked all the fuses several times but nothing.

Sounds like a prob in the connection to your steering wheel. the steering wheel has a special connection that allows all the functions on it to be connected via a rotating connection (did i say connection enough...? lol) i dont know the terminology behind it, but that rotating thing is what lets you turn the wheel. Otherwise, regular connections with simple wires would bunch up everytime you turn the wheel. It sounds like something came loose or just lost connection in there..

sorry so vague. im a novice at this.

happy hunting

Horn on 2006 Dodge Stratus does not work. What do I do to fix it?

I would say a new horn

Put battery voltage directly to it
& see if it works

If it made any sound-- how could it be a fuse ?

If it was a fuse, nothing would happen & a new
fuse wouldn't do anything, until you found & fixed
the reason a fuse failed

Check the relay, if you have one, it could be the horn switch too

The horn on my bmw 328i stopped working. How do you trouble shoot? How to do you replace?

1.check the fuse 2.using a test light check for voltage at horn while horn button is depressed if power is present horn is bad.horn is located behind the bumper. 3. if no power at horn and fuse is good suspect clock spring this part requires removal of steering wheel to replace and test.

Mw horn decided to be quite all of a sudden after using it fir thirty seconds

Sounds like a rely or fuse, check you manual for the fuse box location and then check the fuse for the horn. If the fuse is good, check for votage with a voltage meter at the horn when you have someone else honking it and see if you are getting 12 volt to the horn itself. If you are getting voltage then the horn itself is bad. Sometime just tapping the horn can make it start working again.

Horn not working

For starters, check the fuse block and inspect the most related fuses, like HORN, ACC, dashboard. The owner's manual should have a troubleshooting guide for the most basic stuff, including the horn. Try this for now and see how it works. Let me know if the problem persists. Good Luck.

Car Information

Hi,

There would only be three (3) possibilities for a continuous blowing of horn:
1. defective/shorted horn relay ( very unlikely);
2. defective/shorted horn switch (very likely); and/or
3. shorted/grounded wiring (likely).

The horn switch is the contact switch normally embedded into the steering wheel.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
