Maybe it's not getting any fuel....If the float is set too low it will run the carb almost dry when you accel ---Possible weak fuel pump or vapor lock also.

JUST REPLACED CARB ON MY 1992 CHEVY SILVERADO WITH A 4.3 LITER. NOW IT STARTS AND RUNS FINE UNTIL IT WARMS UP THEN DIES AND WONT START FOR 30 MIN

How many rpm's is it running at when you first start it up and it is running on the choke? Does it gradually start to idle back and then start to die r does it do it all of a sudden and dies?

When running with the choke on, it is on the high idle circuit of the carb, as it warms up the idle should slow down and then idle in the 800 rpm range in Park, 650 in Drive. This will be the low idle circuit range. This transition inside the carb will cover an idle air bleed hole in the venturi of the carb and lean out the mixture. If you notice that the carb smells gassy and black rich unburnt gases are coming from the tailpipe, the problem is located within the carb and requires a carb tech to do a rebuild of the carb. You could try a good carb cleaner like Lucas by putting it into the gas tank, in case you just got a bad tank of gas, but that is just a bandaid for a more deeply rooted problem. Get the carb rebuilt?

1987 subaru carburator problems

You need to hone the accelerator pump well and adjust the throw of the pump rod as much as possible to get more fuel. Of course that is just a guess based on 100's of rebuilds i have done over the years. I have also found that Japanese carbs seldom turn out when rebuilt.

1994 v6 Nissan pickup dies at stop lights. won't idle.

Hello, first is it carburetor or fuel injected engine? When was the last time it was tuned up?
If carbureted engine then the carburetor will need to be rebuilt or replaced with a rebuilt carb.

If fuel injected engine. low fuel pressure, faulty fuel injectors, new air cleaner, throttle position sensor might need to be replaced, air flow sensor could be faulty, broken vacuum hoses, plug fuel filter, faulty fuel pump, new spark plugs, etc. All of these things need to be checked out.

You are probably not getting very good fuel mileage. Couple of things will be needed. rebuild carburetor, new filters, and a tune up. GB...stewbison

1963 vw newly rebuilt engine, starts then dies at RPM acceleration

Could be one or both of two things.

1. The accelerator pump in the carb is clogged, the linkage is unhooked, or the diaphram in the pump is bad. It's cheap to replace and comes in the carb rebuild kit. This usually just causes hesitation when you step on the gas pedal. It doesn't usually cause the engine to stop running.

2. More likely is that the main jet in the carb is clogged. At idle, high vacuum under the closed throttle plate in the carb causes fuel to flow thru the idle jet. As the throttle plate opens (as you step on the pedal), the vacuum under the plate dissipates, stopping the flow of fuel thru the idle jet, and the vacuum ABOVE the throttle plate increases, which is supposed to then draw fuel from the carb bowl thru the main jet in the carb. If the main jet is clogged with dirt, then it can idle just fine and die as soon as you step on the pedal.

My 84 f350 is having fuel and air problem. It ran fair but it would backfire when i let off the accelator,so I had the carb rebuilt that made the backfiring worse. So now I have replaced the carb mounting...

It seems that you have a vaccuum leak around the intake or carb, Check all hoses for good connections. You can spray carb. and choke cleaner around the intake and carb whole it is running and if the engine rise and lowers. you have a leak

1983 Mazda RX7 lacks power rough or no idle

Sounds like carb idle air or fuel jets are clogged.. Test pressure with a gauge to be sure. Float level and drop needs to be exact.. Operation of the whole carb relies on this. Probably why you are not getting any change in your air/fuel adjustments.

Fuel delivery on carb 350 chevy marine engine

Hi!
It seems your fuel pump fails at idle speed. I would first ensure that fuel pump is well fitted, no leaks, and good diaphragm condition.
