You will have to remove the cluster to access the bulbs. Not too terrible of a job, but it is a little time consuming.

Is there a fuse for gas gauge and speedometer for a 2002 gmc Sonoma

no, your fuel gauge is controlled by a fuel pump relay under your hood and if that doesn't fix it...it's the sending unit which is inside the fuel pump, inside your gas tank...speedometer is electronically controlled from your computer...if its not working it's your relay which can be found behind your speedometer...you would have to remove it from your dashboard to get to it.

I can see speedometer only 80 and up. the dimmer wheel is at maxium. the dashboard is light half of the board

If you want to fix this then you will have to remove the dash fascia and gain access to whats behind the instrument cluster, There are a handful of incandescent bulbs located behind the gauge faces. Replace them and you will be good to go.

Lights in the dashboard

Check operation & wiring at light control rheostat (left side of dash) & If everything else with electrical is OK, sounds like the bulbs may have simply blown. You will have to pull out instrument cluster to get at the bulbs.
