If it just up and died on the road and will not turn over now even with a jump it almost sounds like you engine may have locked up on you. But it is hard to tell without actually seeing the car. For your sake I do hope it is a different problem. I would like to help you out more. Can you be more specific as to what the car did when it quit on you? Did it make any sounds or anything? Did it quit when you where actually driving or were you sitting some place at an idle? I look forward to hearing from you.

it quit while it was being driven. it jerked and sputtered for a second or two, then there was a clicking noise, then she coasted to a stop.

Car won't start

You should be able to jump start the engine as long as you are very careful hooking up the cables.
You might want to check battery voltage with a meter first.

My 1999 nissan altima won't start, no crank, not even a click. All lights are ok, stereo etc.

check fuseable link near battery if it's blown would pay to look for short circuit before doing much more

2005 Altima won't start, hear clicking sound coming from fuse box,key stuck in ingintion, won;t turn over, tried to jump start.

the clicking that you hear is coming from the starter relay. sounds like your ignition starter switch or ignition lock cylinder is bad.

Daughter was driving her 93 nissan altima, and it stopped running. tried to jump it and it won't turn over it just clicks. all the lights work.

Put a socket and ratchet on the crankshaft pulley bolt, and attempt to manually turn the engine. It should turn without a great deal of effort. If it is impossible to turn (locked up), the engine is probably seized, or hydro-locked (water, coolant, or oil has entered the combustion chamber, and as you know, liquids can't be compressed).
