When i try to connect the battery horn and front lights come on

Sounds like your car alarm is going off. try hooking up battery and disarming alarm at the same time.

My horn WILL NOT work

Where are you connecting the tester to? If you are connecting one lead to the negative terminal on the battery and the other to the horn wire and it lights up try connecting a wire from the horn housing (bare metal) to the negative battery terminal and attach the horn wire to the horn and try it. if that works the ground path from the battery to the horn mounting place is broken somewhere. you may have to run a negative wire to the horn mounting place to make it work properly. Hope this helps.

Horn will not stop honking

try this. discconect battery neg cable, unplug horn relay under hood, lock front door with key, reconnect battery, unlock front door with key, start car, reinstall horn relay,,, good luck. this works for acura so no promisies on yours.

Horn does not work, horn buttons are good, horn contact in steering cololm is good, battery level is good, can't find a fuse in fuse box for horn.

if you take a test light and test all the fuses in the fuse box and if they are good then when pushing on the horn button you can usually hear the horn relay working(click).if it does then you need to check the horn itself.take a wire and run it from the battery positive cable and connect it to were the horn wire connects to the horn,it should blow(make sure of a good connection),if it does then it could be a dirty connection at the horn.if it doesn`t blow then the horn needs can also use the test light and test for power at the horn wire at the horn itself to see if the horn is being feed power from the horn button to the horn.

I have a 2005 jeep grand cherokee and horn is on i tried discconecting the battery but as soon as i connect the battery it goes on. what do i need to do, to get to kill the horn?

You will have to disconect the horn assembly.

Most of the time it will be found in front of or behind the front grille, or front bumper......the best idea is to trace where the sound is coming from, locate the horn and disconnect.......

I have a 1998 Plymonth Grand Voyager and my horn doesn't work. Any suggestions?

Check your fuse box and see if there is a fuse for the horn. Check it with a continuity tester. If there is no specific fuse for the horn then use the one for the headlights or parking lights.

If all the fuses are good, locate the horn under the hood near the front of the car. Connect cables to the ground of your car and to the ground of your horn, then connect the red cable to the red battery connection and power side of your horn. If the horn makes noise it is good, If not it needs to be replace.

If the horn is good, then it may be wiring or the button on the steering wheel. Follow the wiring and check for continuity using a continuity checker or meter with the battery disconnected. If that is good then it is most likely the button on your steering wheel. It is best to have a tech replace it as the airbag is also in the steering wheel.

As far as the horn, check for a blown fuse, if fuse is ok, locate the horn underneath the hood, check for power at the horn while someone else is pushing the horn. If you have battery voltage at the horn while someone else is pushing the horn, chances are you have a bad horn. Airbag light, check front impact sensors for damage or corrosion, unhook negative battery cable before touching the frontal impact sensors, Good luck, Gary

No Horn

first look for your fuse panel, probably under dash, or under hood, then check horn fuse...this MIGHT work. If not locate your horn under the hood, probably in front of the radiator. if you have a volt ohm meter, just 10 dollars or so at home depot or radio shack, set it on ohms, put one lead on the negative of your battery, the other on one of the horn connections, if it shows zero (a continuity reading) that is the negative ground side of your horn then run one voltmeter lead directly from the negative battery terminal, to the negative horn connection, and have someone try the horn. If it works, great. if it doesnt take the other lead from the positive battery terminal, leaving the negaitve one in place, putting the other end of the positive on the other positive terminal of your horn. if it works, your horn is ok.

that probably means a blown fuse, or more trouble, a bad worn connection under your steering wheel, which means pulling the steering wheel and checking to see if the brass or bronze horn ring is making good contact with the steering wheel connection brass bump, or if it worn out. i had to go to dealer to get a replacement, was about $12 for a toyota, and they do wear out.

The horn is normally right in front, under the radiator, or just in front of it to the left (if you are standing in front of the car) To test if it is actually the horn, first try two separate wires coming from your battery, and connect one wire to the terminal on the horn. Then just touch the other wire to the other terminal. If the horn sounds, it could be a fuse in your vehicle, or your horn knob on the steering wheel. See if it sounds and get back to me.

Volvo S60 2005 horns not working

Remove the wire connector from each horn and attach a voltmeter or test light. Have a helper push the horn button while you check for voltage. If there's no power getting to the horns you have to work your way back to the relay checking for shorts. If there is power try holding the horns metal mount against a good ground like an engine bolt or the sub frame. And with wire reconnected have your helper try the horn again. If it sounds then clean rust away from mounting bolt and car (rad support or grill bracket), and look for a loose or broken ground strap to the rad support (from either the battery or engine). If both horns still don't work either they're clogged with snow or dirt (bring them inside to defrost or clean out), or they need to be replaced.
