I have a 1999 ford windstar and it will not start. I had the alternator replaced and started fine. Now it will not start it just clicks. we changed the battery and still the dame thing. Please help!

have a lot of things on key ring, replace ignition switch. pull key shake ignition switch ,if stops bad switch

check all your earth connections

sounds like alternator is not charging
check output voltage , many stores that sell auto parts are able to check it for free if you are unable to do it yourself

Have you found out what cause the problem, because the same exact thing happened to my van yesterday, and its a 1999 Ford Windstar also.

its vapor locking, losen the fuel cap the next time it does it if that takes care of the problem then replace the fuel cap!!!

fuel pressure regulator could hav failed-located by engine or the ignition module may not be workin-by dist area try not to be a parts replacer-buy a repair book

You will have to look at other areas, like spark and fuel, and engine compression.

Could be your alternator is not charging the battery. When you changed the battery did you let it run?

had the same problem with my 1999 Windstar. The part's store told me that it's on the same fuse as the ignition switch. So I ruled out a fuse issue because everything else on my ignition was working just fine. They suggested I run a new hot wire to the connector. That didn't sound right to me. A couple of weeks later my alternator went. After I replaced it, the OBD II now reads just fine.
