Before you do that ,, remove the distributor cap,, and check the rotor and the cap contact points remove any build up on them with a small piece of sandpaper, then try and start it, if that doesn't work,, also,, this is listed as 2 different years,, this model changed in 95, they go 95-2000 for the part your asking about, and to get you the correct info I'd need to know which motor you have

My 2001 Chevy Cavalier acts like it is not getting gas, a new fuel pump and fuel filter and line was put on and it quit again on me, another fuel pump, spark plugs or points was put on and still will

Check your lines, specifically where your filter housing goes into the fuel tank. I had the same issue and I just had to replace that filter along with a hose. It seems the line somehow got clogged. I hope you find this helpful.

2002 cavalier 2.4 will not start fuel pump runs has spark

FUEL PUMP ONLY HUM'S FOR 2 SECONDS WHEN YOU TURN KEY TO ON, NOT START, POSITION. YOU CANNOT HEAR PUMP RUN WHEN CAR IS RUNNING ! THIS 2 SEC., IS THE PUMP PRIMING ITSELF TO START ENGINE. YOU MIGHT BE HEARING EITHER THE POWER STEERING OR WHATEVER, NOT THE FUEL PUMP!!!!!! GIVEN THE YEAR OF THIS CAR, YOUR FUEL PUMP COULD BE BAD, CHECK FUSES, RELAY, GROUND WIRES, TO PUMP, ALSO CHANGE YOUR FUEL FILTER !!!!! AIR FILTER ALSO !!!!!!! SPARK PLUG WIRES SHOULD ALSO BE REPLACED !!!!

[email protected] have a 2004 cavalier with the 2.2 eng the check eng light stay on an it alos blinks..the car has a miss in it while idiling or accelerating but at a stedy speed it runs fine an has good...

well the light is blinking because of the misfire it is setting a P0300 engine missfire detected, a plugged fuel injector will cause that misfire or a incorrectly gapped spark plug, also a bad egr valve will cause a rough idle and acceleration problems.but for a correct fix with out throwing parts at it will have to be done by a pro

I have a 94 chevy cavalier. and it wont start. the coil is fine and so is the spark plugs. and it does turn over when i crank it... i would pump the gas a couple of times and it would seem to try and start...

you need to check see if it is getting fuel sounds like a clogged fuel filter and when you pump the fuel peddle you are puttting it clear flood mood which may also be leaking fuel injectors and flooding the cylinders with fuel but most likely is a clogged fuel filter try spraying starter fluid in throttle body and if starts its clogged fuel filter

Falls dead when driving, will restart after awhile

Did you try checking or replacing the coolant sensor? I think you should replace it along with the thermostat. Are there any problems like sputtering or any unusual noises or symptoms? Smoke, anything?

Replacing fuel pump in 94 Cavalier

If you haven't changed the filter in a long time change it. Diagnostics are very helpful but I'd change that filter first (you are not wasting $ if you have not done it because it is likely due for a change) With the key on, can you hear the pump running? If you can, that's a good thing.
good luck and post back if it works (or not)
