I'm trying to put an after-market head unit into a 94 GMC Jimmy. The previous owner cut the car's original wiring harness plug off, so I can't buy a wiring harness that i can plug into it and match up to the car stereo. Can anyone tell me what color wires go to what? This is driving me nuts.

easiest way is to also buy the wiring adapter almost all elect brake units sell a vehicle specific wire harness that u unplug brake wire harness plug in other harness than plug in brake harness and just connect the wires to elect brake controller eliminates cutting and splicing ur brake harness about $18
There is no remote wire on these newer trucks....03 and up....u have to buy the harness....although i didnt....i have an 03 gmc sierra and just pulled the schematic and matched the wires. And there is no programming to do on an aftermarket stereo.....I work for GMC and we cant program aftermarket stereos......if u buy the right harness ...and its over $100 then everything should work just fine.....and this does not disarm ur alarm system either....mine still works fine....hope this helps
Hi: From my experience the security issue is easily solved because hitting the factory key FOB lock button is the only way to activate it, hitting door lock button will not activate it. When installing a remote starter no wires are cut usually, just spliced into which means... make sure that where wires were spliced they are taped. If you have the original factory key FOB use a quarter and pop apart, replace the battery, key FOB should have retained its factory setting if your lucky, if doesn't work go to internet search and find programming procedure. Hope this helps... please rate suggestion...ty
depends on what your putting in.
some people cut the wire harness on the back
DONT DO THAT you will experience a pain in the ***.
go to walmart best buy even car toys and buy the clip for your type of car. plug it in and match wires on the new head unit.
