1996 Ford Taurus (automatic) Window Problems

My windows seem to have a mind of their own, i noticed that i have to wait for the inside lights to come on to be able to let my windows down or up, but whenever they come on and im able to, the light 'magically' disappears and im out of luck. any solutions because id hate for it to rain and not have a dry seat.

  • On the bottom of your instrument panel, jest to the left of your brake, there is a fuse panel. Remove the cover and look for relay #38. This is your window relay.

Where is the washer pump located on the 1996 ford taurus

The washer pump is generally located on the bottom of the washer tank. Look for a wire and hose at the bottom of the tank where you add the window washer fluid.. Hope this helps.

Does a 2006 ford taurus have a fuse for the power windows? ,y windows wont go up or down

Yes the power window fuse is in the fuse panel. If you are having problems with all the windows then it is a switch problem. If it is one window then it sounds like a window motor problem

the device will read codes, but the scan tool is also used to check parameters of the engine while running and will notice problems inside the engines computer which don't always show up ie the check engine light. if the engine isn't running it will also check for current or past issues.
