Question about 2005 Pontiac Sunfire
2005 pontiac sunfire driver's side window goes down fine but comes up in stages. I have to wait a few minutes then press the up switch the window will advance a few inches then stop. I have to repeat the process several times to get the window closed.
I had the same problem. It was a bent rod on the regulator, which burned out the motor. Easiest way is to switch out the whole assembly, the motor and the regulator. Mine is working just fine now. I am a female and was able to switch it out just fine i just had to have someone else hold the window in the right positions to get to the bolts on the window.

Sounds like you have a weak window motor .
They are a real pain to change ...
If at all possible stop using the window because sooner or later it wont roll up .
