Question about 2001 Audi A4

1 Answer

2001 A4 Quattro Back Seat Passenger Side Door

The back seat passenger side door will not open from the inside when the doors are unlocked. You can open it from the outside. The back drivers side works fine. Is there a child lock on it and how would you disengage it. I am not near the car and need to tell my daughter what to do. Any help would be great!

There is a child lock on it. Open the door and look on the edge of the door, where it mates to the body when the door closes. There's a lever there that is labeled as the child lock. It'll show her which way to switch the lever to allow the door to be opened from inside the car.

2003 nissan 350z. Passenger door electric locks only unlock half way. Problem is I can get door panel off being door is shut and cant open from outside/inside.....What now lol

Remove the front seat can give you access to remove the panel. But if it has screws around the outer perimeter, most likely will have to tear it out. Best to find a replacement first. Look at the drivers door, if it has screws, so does the passenger side. There are screws around the arm rest and door handle to remove, then it pops off. Again the seat has to be out of the way.

Passenger door can be opened from inside but not from outside...how too fix???

Remove the door lining and look inside by the lock. There is a linkage that has come adrift. To remove the door lining, remove handles, escutcheons, and arm rests. Using a wide blade screw driver gently pop the plastic rivets that hold the lining to the door.

Opening the drivers door doesnt automatically open the passangers door

Some vehicle locking systems allow a single button press to unlock the driver's side door and require a second button press to unlock the passenger side door. Likewise, use of the key to unlock the driver's side door does not automatically unlock the passenger side.

Passenger door will only open from the outside not inside

on the link for the lock on the door inside the door panel there is a plastic retainer this can snap and the door rod can come out of place, you would need to replace the plastic clip and fit the rod back into place, when you have the rod in place used some wire and rap the plastic clip and rod this should stop this happening again.

{: ) The passenger door trim panel should be removed, and the inside inspected carefully for any binding of linkages, stuck up levers or cables, or worn out grommets, broken pieces, before deciding for a doorlatch replacement.

Front driver side door wont open from outside.

Sounds like its the bar that goes from the latch in the side of the door up to the handle. It will need to be reattached. If that dosent seem to be the problem you may want to replace handle and all bars in the door with parts from your local junkyard.
