Here's asite that will explain everything you need to know about airbag systems, airbaglights and resetting the system. Itshows you the location of the components and the procedure for diagnosingand/or resetting airbag light. Not allvehicles need everything replaced. You cancheck to see if your car is listed here. http://www.airbagsolutions.com/ Airbagsolutions.comalso has the fault code charts to tell you what is wrong and how to fix it! Some vehiclemanufacturers let you access and reset systems without a scanner (like Toyota,Lexus, Nissan, Infinity, Honda, Acura, Ford, Lincoln, Mazda & Mercury) andsome require a scan tool. Althoughit's a pay site ($14.95/day), it's a lot cheaper than going to the dealer Here's the page in this site that tells you which cars needa scan tool and which ones can be done without I hope I've helped you http://www.airbagsolutions.com/scanlist.aspx http://www.airbagsolutions.com/light.aspx http://www.airbagsolutions.com/vehicles_list.aspx

2008 lexus is 250 srs light on and passenger side airbag

You’ll need to get the error code read first, but I’d hazard a guess that the SRS system is holding the fault code permanently till cleared, or there is a subsequent fault.

Srs light on

What is responsible for this anomaly is the sensor that detected the hit. Maybe the electronics can be "reset" to resolve the issue - check with the dealer - maybe you can do it yourself.

Passenger airbag turned off and the airbag light stays on. How do I turn on the passenger airbag and shut the light off?

You have a problem with the SRS. Working on this system can be very dangerous. For that reason I recommend you have this repaired by a professional.

My SRS light comes on and off. I don't know what

It has to do with your airbags. Supplemental Restraint System. This light can be caused by a lot of things including any of the following:
  • Letting battery drain too low
  • Bad Sensor
  • Blown fuse
  • Unplugging the car’s battery
  • Removing the gauge cluster/installing aftermarket gauges
  • G-Force sensors that are under each of the front fenders ($250.00 each)
  • Bad clockspring (located inside your steering wheel)
  • Bad ECU
  • Bad reverse light switch on transmission
  • Car was in an accident
  • Airbag defective/unplugged

97 pontiac bonneville se airbag light stays on all the time the car is running

Here's a quick check list for most common cost of SRS / Air bag problem.

Dirty contacts on driver and passenger seat belt buckles

Dirty contacts on seat belt connectors (under seats)

Dirty contacts on driver and passenger sides weight sensors (under seat)

Seat covers

Weight on passenger seat
(Example: grocery package trigger SRS / Air Bag light on the way home.)

I recommend you to pass an vacuum over the contacts and use CRC electronic parts cleaner to rule out connectivity problem.

I DO NOT recommend disconnecting the negative battery connector to clean the code(s).

Without the code(s) the dealer will takes "BILLABLE" time to reproduce the problem.

What the srs light means

Your SRS light is related to your "airbag system". You need to have it repaired because you have no airbags while that light is on.

Srs light is on

Weak power from alternator.

Use a volt meter and check for the voltage.

It should be 13.8V to 14.2V

SRS

SRS stand for Supplymentary Restraint System, The purpose of the SRS light on your instrument panel is to alert you of a potential problem with your supplemental restraint system. It should blink seven times when you turn the ignition switch to ON or START and go OFF. A possible fault in the system can lead to any of the following: (a) The light does not come on when you turn the ignition ON. (b) The light stays on after the engine starts. (c) The light comes on while you are driving. Apart from the conventional causes of these faults (faulty airbag system), majority of the light indicator problem has been attributed to ignorance while fixing or repairing mechanical and/or wiring systems within the vehicle. If the SRS indicator light alerts you to a problem, have the supplemental restraint system inspected as soon as possible. If you ignore this indication, the airbags might not inflate when you need them. Likely Causes:
  • Steering wheel modifications
  • Faulty driver/passenger seat sensors for your airbag system (located under the seats)
  • Faulty seat belt mechanism
  • Tampered system components or wiring (e.g battery jumpering)
* Sometimes, a little adjustment of your seat belts and/or seat positions might fix the indicator problem over time (if the sensors are not faulty).
Precautions:
  • Do not modify your steering wheel or any other part of the supplemental restraint system. Modifications could make the system ineffective.
  • Do not tamper with the system's components or wiring. This could cause the airbags to inflate inadvertently, possibly injuring someone very seriously.
  • Tell anyone who works on your vehicle that you have a supplemental restraint system. Failure to follow the procedures and precautions in the official service manual could result in personal injury or damage to the system.
  • If all sensors are ok, the system can be reset using appropriate tools; refer to specially trained technicians.

SRS Light Came on After new Raio Installation

SRS i presume is the Supplemental Restraint System (airbags).Yes,it is possible the installer disturbed or pulled on some wires dislodging a connector, disabling an airbag,or something along those lines.A quality scan tool can access the air bag computer/controller and pull diagnostic trouble codes. The codes will tell you exactly what is malfunctioning, driver side, passenger side,etc..Then the diagnsotic route can be followed to make necessary repairs. If the SRS wasn't on before the repairs,i would go back to the store that installed the stereo and insist this light wasn't on before the repairs.Where i work, before EVER laying hands on the vehicle for repairs, any and all lights illuminated on the dash are documented on the repair order,as well as many other vehicle functions or damage.Scrapes, dents, missing hub caps,a/c functioning or not...many many things are documented before repairs begin.
