Where are location crankshft sensor?? - 1992 Toyota Previa

The crankshaft sensor is located just to the side of your ignition coil pack on the engine block. The camshaft sensor is located on the back of the engine, just to the left of the oil filter. I would HIGHLY suggest having a qualified technician do this job for you. There is only one 10mm head bolt holding the sensor into the block, but these sensors are know to freeze into the engine block and break leaving a part of the sensor in the engine. If you attempt this yourself, be sure to rotate the sensor once the bolt is removed, and pull GENTLY. If it breaks, your in for a large repair bill.

The crank sensor is above and behind the starter. See image below.

In order to remove you need to remover the starter.

It could be a fault with one or both of the sensors (they can and do fail occasionally). If both sensors are good and the wiring to them is ok, then your timing belt has likely jumped at least one tooth.

computer is not getting a good signal from the crankshft position sensor and is not able to time the spark properly. Sensor is usually mounted near the crankshaft pulley. Check the connector at the sensor, the mounting of the sensor, and trace the wire for possible short or damage. If looks OK, consider replacing the sensor itself. Questions, let us know.

Crankshft position sensor. It works off the rotation of the crankshaft. A mark on the cam passes the sensor every engine rotation and signals the to the main (BRAIN). Does the car turn over at all, or will it run then looses spark and quits.

Crankshft sensor circuit out of range,Most likely,in this case,the crankshaft sensor is bad.Reoplace it and be on your way.

your ignition system doesn't use a Crank sensor, it uses a distributor Hall Effect magnetic pickup, both parts do the same thing but in very different ways, the hall effect is located inside the Distributor. here is the part number.

The crank sensor is pushed into the front timing cover near the crank pulley on the passenger side.
