The gear shift is stuck in my Chrysler Pacifica (2007)...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I edited the hear words to gear.and blow to below

No it's not the park neutral safety switch . It's the shift interlock system or what ever Chrysler calls it . It's a safety feature that won't let the transmission shift into gear unless you have your foot on the brake pedal .
What just clicks - explain ?

Shift interlock cable stuck. Car think still in gear so it won't release key

Have it towed to a shop

You should first take it & have someone hook it up to a scanner & if it`s not the solenoid which is a common problem, then it`s something mechanical. Let me know.

It maybe worth getting someone to check fluid level in autobox,it could be low.I have had problems with internal filters try removing and cleaning.

This is classic limp in mode. The computer won't let it shift to prevent further damage to the transmission. Gas mileage will go down because you're stuck in low gear. P0700 is a pretty general code. You need to get it to a shop for a diagnosis
