Proper torque for your car is: 15 ft. lbs. (20 Nm). Platinum tip spark plugs are recommended with a gap of .50. Thanks very much for using Fixya!

Torque value is ELEVEN ft/lb.s (11). 15 is too tight for aluminum head

You're wrong on the torque value for N* aluminum heads. It's ELEVEN ft/lb.s. 15 is too much.

20 Newton meters or 14.75 foot pounds. Hand tight so to speak, if you dont have a torque wrench that reads in newton meters or 177 inch pounds just judge by feel and you will be ok.

The ACTUAL torque value is 11 ft/lb.s. You should look it up instead of just guessing

How to replace spark pluges in a 2003 cadillac deville northstar engine

With alot of hard work - Just kidding. You might find the answer at "justanswer.com". Or type your question into your Computer search engine. You'll probably need a swivel type spark plug wrench, as the plugs on many cars are hard to reach.

When does the timing belt need to be changed on a 2001 Cadillac Deville with a Northstar engine?

The northstar engine uses chain driven cams that eliminates the need to replace timing belts.

I can't find my spark plugs on my 2001 deville...where are they located

The sparks plugs are located on the side of the engine, there will be spark plug wires covering them the number of spark plugs in your car depend on the size of the engine, like if you have a v8 there will be 8 of them if you have a v6 there will be six of them and so on. There are no spark plug wires on the 2000-up Northstar engines. They use coil on plug design. If you remove the screws that holds the coil pack to the top of the cam covers, you will see the tops of the spark plugs directly underneath. They are in the center of the cam covers.
