Wont start! the battery light is on, lights work, but it wont start. Any ideas? Cheers

Lights on the dash with key out sounds like ignition switch issue, but I would check the battery connections at both ends on both cables. Also make sure you have a good connection for chassis ground. If that is all good, suspect the ignition switch.

Hi just because the lights work does not always mean the battery is ok. It takes a lot more power to crank the starter.
Generally that clicking will be either the battery or the starter motor. I would suggest if you can try jump leads and if it starts problem is battery, If not problem is most likely starter motor. For a possible third thing to check Make sure the battery leads are tight.

Is the battery good? A bad battery will give you enough power for your lights but it wont crank your engine, specially if you have a big engine. Ill suggest you start from there, if you had any previous problems related to that. itll be a good idea to post them as well.

Any idea where the beeping is coming from? It sounds like low amperage. Do the lights dim when you try to start the car? If so the battery is weak. I would charge the battery and check it. If the battery checks out OK get the charging circuit tested.

If jump start always works, the problem is the battery or poor connection to the battery.

you have a bad battery. or the terminals are either loose or dirty.

if your lights go out when you try to start the motor the battery isn' t good or your starter motor is drawing to much current,if your battery is in good condition the voltage should'nt drop below 10 volts when the starter is engaged....hope this helps....cheers

What does it do when it's not starting?Does it just click or does it turn over way to slow?Have you tried to boost it?Have you had the battery tested?Let me know if there are any other symtoms please.

Sounds like starter selanoid, but first make sure battery connections are clean and tight, if sure they are then turn on headlights and try to start if still clicks and lights dim its starter.

I think the best way to go is to put in a new battery, let the car idle for 10 minutes and then give it a good drive and see, sometimes due to low voltage to the copmputer, the latter may try to reset the parameters as soon as it detects constant voltage(when car is running) and this might cause the car to behave like this.
