Follow the upper radiator hose from the radiator to the other end. Where the other end attaches is the thermostat housing. It is generally fastened with two bolts. The thermostat is located under the housing.

Hi where about i can find the thermostate car model ford focus 2.0l petrol 2006 reg thanks

The thermostat is normally located in the aluminium elbow that the top radiator hose connects to. The elbow is usually held down by two bolts and it is only necessary to remove these to replace the thermostat. It may not be necessary to remove any hoses. Take care that the new thermostat is correctly located in its recess and the old gasketing has been completely removed and that the new gasket has a smear of gasket cement on it. While tightening the bolts, make sure that the elbow is seating evenly and not catching on the edge of the thermostat or you could crack the elbow.

Where is the thermostate located

The thermostat will be located either at the upper radiator hose inlet to the engine, or it will be located at the lower radiator hose inlet to the engine.

Remember that the spring end of the thermostat should always go towards the engine, and not towards the hose.

Also with a lower mounted thermostat, when it comes time to add coolant you should dis-connect the upper radiator hose at the radiator and fill the engine through the radiator hose, if you do not then there will be very little coolant in the engine block until the thermostat opens up, and by then your engine could be toast.
