If it has a floor mounted lever than it is shift on the fly for 4Hi,
however most people prefer to go slower or be fully stopped to make sure
it fully engages properly. To shift into 4-Lo, you have to be rolling
at about 3MPH with the transmission in NEUTRAL. On the floor mounted
shifter, firmly shift into Lo without pausing in neutral. Don't be
afraid to be forceful, it's designed to be engaged firmly and quickly.
2wd to 4hi to 2wd can be done moving or stopped .. if moving shifts can be made up to 55 mph with the vehicle in motion, the transfer case will engage/disengage faster if you let off the gas pedal after turnin the control knob. if the vehicle is stopped.. the key MUST be in the ON position with it running or OFF the shift cannot be done if the key is in the accessory position
may work may not...on older cars when the starter went bad and the car wouldn't start you could tap the starter with a long screwdriver or hammer lightly and the solenoid would engage and start the car but you need to get it home or to shop cause it wouldn't work again..if you try this and the starter engages then the starter needs to be replaced if you haven't already tried..if the lights are flashing when you try to start the vehicle then o would say its prob a malfunctioning alarm system..try to diengage it by pulling fuse for alarm..don't know if you can though..check the starter...good luck
2002 Durango shuts down without warning. Sit for about 30-45 min and will restart, run for a while, and shut down again. Shows "NO BUS" code. Took it to Dodge Dealer and had a diagnostic done....nothing!!! Have changed PCM, crank shaft sensor and am getting ready to RUN IT OFF A CLIFF if I can get it running long enough!!! It is a black hole and we are getting no where!! I can't even sell the dang thing!!
Look in your manuel, there are steps to change the Key less remote setting to customize it the way you'ld like the car Key less system to work.
Good luck and hope this helps, if your still having problem. Just drive the Dodge dealer and ask the Service adviser to help you out, he or she would be more then happy to reprogram the key less system for you.
Mine has done this and i as well do not have a working remote. To disengage it just put the key in the driver door lock and turn for 2-3 seconds and it will disengage. i didn't even know mine had an alarm until coming out of work one night and it went off and i could not get it to turn off unless i went to "unlock" the door and hold it there for a few seconds.
