hi; no power ? 93 jeep grand cherokee 4x4; cat. was burned out ! badly hot !. i did cut it off, ! put back with out a cat....just a new muffler, shot tail pipe.. put in new spark plugs,, new dist. rotor, ? those's, old plugs were very black!
but, rough starting, how, do you find the power codes, ? or reset, the computor ?. just has no power !??. what's wrong ?. can, i reset ?..can i buy some fuel treatment?????
Pretty basic. If it's leaking that badly, you should have no problem locating the leak source. Line leaks are best done using compression fittings. (cut line and install). You can also use high pressure hose (like what's used when installing a trans cooler) slide it onto the line so there is at least three inches on each side of the line and use two mini-clamps with the screw parts opposite each other on each end. If the leak is from the unit itself, each repair is different, some require trans removal. such as a front seal failure (fluid coming from the bellhousing.) Hope it's just a line! Once repaired, I recommend that you put in a container of lucas trans treatment to mitigate any ill effects of the run low condition as well.
The guy at the garage today, said he went out and put a fuse in it and it started right up. Thats all he did for now. I going to have a closer look on the weekend. But, as before when I went 1/2 mile it would burn the fuse again. We will have to see if it does again, I espect it will. Any idea?
I had a similar problem. My mech told me it was from putting it in park before it is completely stopped. Your vehicle is reacting like its in neutral or out of gear, since it will only start when it is in park, yet it will start with a push. If this is an automatic your speaking of this could be your problem. He said it is common in Jeeps. I have not replaced the part but I have not had any trouble starting as long as I make sure that when I park my wheels are straight & I take my foot completely off the brake after I put in in park, then shut it off. It starts every time.
