Seat belt warning light on. 01 VW Golf

Changed carpet, put everything back in the car, wires hooked up and now my seat belt light comes on. Disconnected battery to reset, didn't work. Turn key light comes on for a second then goes out for a second and then stays on. Is it a code being held and what to do?

I pulled the codes off and reset them. It looks like the codes were the issue. After that no problems.

    Thanks for the help.

More likely to be a sensor - check gsf (google it - german, sweedish, french car parts) for the seat belt sensor

I had the bank and o2 sensors changed and disconnected the battery but engine and seat belt lights are still on. Why??

And the seat belt warning light and the check engine light are two different systems. The seat belt light means one of the seat belts is not fastened if someone is sitting in the seat, or the sensor for that seat has failed.

Reset srs light after replacing seatbelt

To reset the SRS light on an Acura Integra, pull down the SRS service connector. Unplug this connector so you have access to jump the harness. Start with the ignition OFF. Jump the SRS plug. Turn the ignition ON. The SRS light will come on then off.------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Its possible you got water in a wiring harness under the carpet or under one of the seats.
You would need to trace the wiring from the key to the starter to see what is not working. Could be the neutral safety switch on the trans but that would not have anything to do with wet carpets.

After changing my seat belts the airbag light wont come off

There should be a factory reset process for this. Something simple. Have you disconnected the battery waited 2 minutes and see if that dos not reset the computer.

Make sure the seat belt is the same as the original and there are no small wires you left unplugged.

Seat belt warning buzzer won't stop even when the seat belts are connected.

The seatbelt connector could be disconnected. Follow the wiring that comes out of the buckle. You would see this wire close to the cars floor/carpet. Hopefully the connector is pulled out otherwise wiring could have snapped. If the wiring looks good. You may need to clean the buckle as dirt could be preventing the switch from going off.

SRS Light on Dash Illuminated

Sounds like either you did not connect the seat belt restraint wiring when the seats where put back in. This is a common problem. You will need to look under the seat and make sure that there are no loose wiring at all. The SRS is for the seatbelts.

I just changed the starter, disconnected battery

Under dash by your left knee is a 4"x4" box. It has a small wire lead with a button on the end. Turn ignition on and push button. Resets the alarm. THis will stop your lights from flashing. Have a great day.

Engine wont start

The mechanic should check on the connection of the wires to the battery and the ignition system . Because of may be there is a wire that have been accidentally been disconnected. When you remove the the speaker box , and the amps out of the car.Check the wires , the fuses and the ignition switch and the ignition switch wires and fuses. It is because when you place the amps and the speaker box ,May be there is a wire that you accidentally disconnected that's why it wont start. When you place back all the equipment to the car.
