Reasons for cylinder misfires

Ford coil on plug systems are multi strike ignition (spark) under 1300 rpm then go to single strike a single cylinder misfire can be created by several things . #1 Test engine compression on a cranking engine compression it should be around 150 lbs but if gauge reads different COMPARE to other cylinders that work fine #2 check engine running compression this will be around 120 lbs then rev over 2000 rpm and check pressure drop again COMPARE to other cylinders that work fine. any drop would indicate valve train problems. #3 All internal engine is fine then external problems are present vacuum leaks and or fuel injection volume is low.

I have a 2003 ford escape v6 every time it is wet outside or damp it has a misfire and a code for idle under 1000 rpm what could be the problem

Ignition system faulty, most probaby the coil, or igniton module, I would also check your distrubuter cap if so equipped.

Code p0316

Code 316 is an extension of your Code 304. 316 means its misfiring in the first 1000 RPM's and 304 means number 4 cylinder is the problem cylinder.
Could be a bad wire, coil, or sparkplug.

My car jerks while accelerating

This could be a weak fuel pump.Check your fuel pressure there should be a fuel test port on the fuel rail to connect a gauge.

I have 3 codes. P0172, p0316 and p0316. It is misfiring under 1000 rpm. after 1000 rpm it runs great

p0172 Basically this means that an oxygen sensor in bank 1 detected a rich condition

p0316 crankshaft position sensor

clean your intake and check you cap / rotor

2003 intrpid misfiring under 1000 RPM 2,4,6 cylinders only. Over 1000 RPM works fine

Your question is? Sounds as though that info came from a code scanner.? We can not repair a vehicle over the internet by guessing and you throwing parts at it. Someone will need to get involved with a professional scanner and lots of experience. You may have ignition issues ,but just during cranking? Get quality professional help. It pains me to say that, but I don't have the vehicle.
