You will need to bring it to a dealer and they can unlock it takes about 1 hour they need to retrive master code and then they go to a gm site and they give them the unlock code

Radio is locked need code bought car used

Check with the dealer or a shop that installs stereo systems.
Usually the code is set by the factory or the owner, different for each car.

WHAT IS A THEFT LOCK

It's a rather stupid system that prevents theft of your factory radio. Who steals a factory radio. Buy an aftermarket one and install it.

I have a 2000 grand prix gtp with a radio cassette...I want a radio cd player. I went to a junk yard and found a 2000 grand prix gt with a radio cd player....I bought it (the radio cd player), can i swap...

The wires will be the same. The problem is that the radio you bought may have theftlock on it. ( it would be printed on the front). If so you don't have the code for it. there is a slight chance that it will work, probably 1 in a 100. If it doesn't and the display reads LOC not LOCK, then you can take it to a dealer and they can recode it for you. Costs about 50 dollars here. Indy

How to open the dash and install a new cd player from the factory cd player

Some call for a small long skinny screwdrivers in all four holes at same time to release factory player. Others, you can take a butter knife and work all the way around factory stereo to flatten out the metal holding tabs that hold it in place. The trip will pry off with flathead screwdriver

How to remove or bypass the factory installed anti theft vehicle immobilizer.

in the 1996 sunfire GM uses an anti theft lock system. It can be triggered by all sorts of things. In order to relinquish this you must have a key to turn the ignition. These are not coded just plain cut keys. Once you attain this you put the key in and turn the ignition to the ACC position and wait ten minutes (theft lock light will turn off), turn off and take key out. You MUST do this 3 times and then the theft lock will be disarmed.

Battery was disconnected and radio won't work on 2003 Pontiac ,Gr

If you bought the car used, you will have to contact the dealer or person that sold it to you. They have set a 4 digit code that must be used to clear the radio.
Good luck, let me know.
