Question about 2000 Toyota Sienna

2002 Toyota Sienna Sunroof

Any ideas how to fix a sunroof on an '02 Sienna with a sunroof that leaks like a sieve? Had it to the dealer a few years ago and they said the drain hose became unattached. Didn't leak for a while. Just started again, worse than ever. Re-attached drain hose with a better clamp-drain hole and upper protion of hose has no obstructions-can't find where hose leads to after entering front left pillar to check foe blockage further down. Am I missing something?

I have a Toyota Camry 1997. I had sunroof leaking problem, took it to a dealer, and it was good for a while and now it's leaking again even more. My back seat passenger side floor has a little puddle. Front passenger side leaks from behind the wheel area, between front passenger door and the body. But no puddle in the front. I don't know what to do. Do you have any suggestion?

I have an 06 XLE w/ 23k miles and couldn't help to notice a nice shot of cold rain water shoot down my back as i backed the van out of the driveway this morning! I hear there are drains that can be plugged or hose disconnected.

There are 4 drains on the sunroof (2 in each front corner, 2 in each rear corner).
If you want to check to see if they are clear, you can do this.

Get a squeeze bulb (about the size of a turkey baster) and squirt water down each drain, look for water draining out at the bottom of the car. For the rear drains, park the car on a slight uphill, and gently squeeze water down the drain trough on each side, here again, look for water draining out of the car.
If those ar clear, next step is to check the seal of the glass. The drains are only designed to take in a small amount of water, if there is too big of a gap between the panel and the body, it will over run the drain troughs (kind of like when the gutters on a house get stuff in them).

Finding water leaks is kind of a pain, but not if you take it a step at a time.
One thing to remember, water does not run uphill.

So to further water test it. Find a place where you can park it uphill or downhill, grab a flashlight, a friend and a hose.
Start at a low spot, and work your way around the sunroof (one person inside with the light, one outside with the hose). Just let the water run slowly, you don't want to use a nozzle or a spray.
Once you can see when the water starts leaking on the inside, you can narrow down the cause.

Stuck sunroof

check all fuses. (both fuse boxes)
if they are good.
that it can be 2 problems
1: electrical
2: it mech. jammed. up.
what a tech does, is check for 12v to the motor as you flip the switch
if 12v good the motors bad (silent) or jammed (groans)
if 12v pins , at 0v. then the power feed is bad, (switches and relays) ask how, (voltmeter checks easy)
if 12v to motor, then detach motor drive, and try to move roof
by hand , cant?, then its JAMMED, fix it. (mech. fault ,pure)
if you can move roof easy , then the motor is toast, replace it.

Rav4 sunroof leaks because of worn rubber seal and not because of clogged drain hole

most upholsterers should be able to help here If not go to a rubber dealer that sells sponge rubber etc as most have a good selection of auty trim rubbers that you can fit yourself. The best glue is loctite 406 Be careful as it is a super glue

I have water getting inside when it rains on the back floor its a 2002 pontiac bonneville is ther any way to fix it when i go to car wash it leaks in

I'm assuming the vehicle has a sunroof, if so you'll need to be sure there are no obstructions like leaves or small sticks keeping the sunroof from completely closing. If the sunroof is closing properly it may be time to replace the weather stripping seal around the sunroof to get the leak stopped. Please rate this answer, thanks.

Cooling Fan wont turn off and kills battery

Glad to hear that you are all fixed up!

The sunroof leak is caused by a blockage in the drain tubes. Please make sure that your dealer cleans the sunroof drains.

A FixYa rating (4 blue diamonds) would be greatly appreciated for my assistance. Thanks!

2002 cougar sunroof parts/repair help

there is no relay in the roof assembly, just the motor. So, heck the fuse #21 on the fuse panel. Your owner manual will tell you location.

ALso, you can use a wrench, torx bit or hex wrench to close the roof in an emergency. It's on the motor. Your owner manual will tell you how to close it.

check fuse #21, 40 amp.

check switch

check motor
