Question about 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee
I have a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited 4x4, 6 cyl, with a sunroof. A
few months ago, I thought the motor died on it as I could not longer open it.
Well, today, after the battery had been disconnected for a while doing some
work on it, we hooked the battery back up and all the sudden, the sun roof
opened. the motor continued running as if the sunroof was not yet all the
way opened. We finally had to disconnect the battery again for bit to get the
motor to go off. Now, the motor is no longer running but the sunroof is
STUCK in the OPEN position. Can someone help us on how to get it shut???
You will have to remove the sunroof motor, and the sunroof glass. Then you can move the guide tracks seperately until they are in the closed position. Then you can put the glass and motor back in, remove the power source (fuse or disconnect wire harness) to prevent any accidental opening until you can get it fixed. Chances are that a guide track or cable is broken, this can be a costly fix. Do not take it to the dealership, they will only want to install a whole sunroof unit. Take it to a local shop that installs aftermarket sunroofs
