Sorry to tell you buddy. Your engine you Buick Century beat the Willy the Road Runner to the border for a taco. In other words, you destroyed the engine in your car. It not worth repairing unless you fine another engine and you and your friends due the installation. GB you Sir...stewbison

I have a 1996 Buick Century...Having codes P1651, 1652, and 1655 come up...can clear the codes and will drive for about 4 days...then either have to clear codes again OR have to figure out where these...

fan 1 and 2 relay, and the 1655 is evap purge solenoid, the fan relays going bad can cause the car to run hot or overheat, check for broken vacuum lines and replace the purge solenoid if needed.

My 02 buick century keeps popping the cooling fan fuse and my fans dont turn on is it my pcm ??

I just replaced a set of cooling fan motors for this problem, and the connectors on the motors were even melted, had to replace connector pigtails as well, th fans also cools the a/c condenser so if the fans quit then your a/c will not be very cool unless your driving and the air flow will aid like a fan would..

1996 buick century door locks won't work and radio goes to am station when you turn off the car

This same thing happened to me in my 1996 buick century just a few days ago. I have the same problem with the door locks and the radio resetting to AM too. I also have the problem of the seats not moving. I think it might be the curcuit breaker or a fusible link. I am not a mechanic, but I do have the repair manual and the mechanics book with the wiring diagrams. If you want me to send the wiring diagram I could do that. I hope that helps. Let me know what you find cause I got the same problem.

Can driving my buick without the thermostat hurt

Yes it can. The car will not get up to operating temperature as fast. It's never good to modify a car from its original factory specifications.

98 buick century , with auto climate control ,

is it HOT or just not as cold. If its HOT, like heated air, there is a door problem, if its just not cool, the a/c refridgerent is low and will need a recharge, most likely the comp is leaking.

My 1996 buick century is leaking water from the engine...on the right side of the engine...i fill up the radiator with water and two days later its starts overheating...i changed the water pump so i know...

Could be a hose..
When you pull into your drive way - when it is hot - shut it off - this is the best time to look for the leaks because after you shut it of the presure builds a bit.. Check the hoses..
Could be the water pump...
ould be a freeze plug gone bad..

Good luck !

1996 buick regal over heating

Hi,
This sounds normal to me..... Except "runs to hot when idling"

When you're driving about (airflow over rad) all seems fine, but when sat in traffic idling - the fans come on to cool. Is the problem that even with the fans running, temperature still goes up - and fans never turn off again?

Is this the problem?

If it is, then the coolant pump may be badly corroded, not driving efficiently, or the coolant needs flushing and replacing.
