The starter isn't working correctly. The clock and radio are ment to turn off when turning to the start position.

My S40 vovlvo has just stopped functioning without anything out of the ordinary beforehand. When I turn the key in the ignition it doesn`t start at all. Just nothing, no sound, no any other reaction from...

if the lights and battery light come on but there is no click when trying to start. its more like the solenoid on the starter is not working. if you put headlights on and try to start the lights should go dim (no hid lights/leds) if not then the starter solenoid is not engaging the motor to turn the engine over. also make sure you still have your chip in the key as it could be this as well. if you hear the fuel pump engage then the immobilizer is not on.

2008 Jeep Wrangler, will not start or does start when it wants. Have had it to the dealership and they can't find anything, does anyone have any answers?

Not enough information. If you had it in the dealership and they can't find anything, it could still be anything. Do the lights come on when you turn the key then it won't turn over? Does it turn over but don't start? Does it not do anything? Can you try to push start it( standard transmission only)? Frequently overlooked at the dealership is the basic stuff. They go for the heart of disaster. You have a timing chain on this vehicle so timing belt won't break. But you still have crank and camshaft position sensors. Start there. Then if the lights are coming on but it won't turn over verify the ignition is actually going all the way to start position. Sometimes the ignition actuator pin breaks and doesn't allow the key to turn all the way. Cant suggest more ideas with no information. Could be hundreds of things.

1988 Trans Am will not start when ignition is turned all the way.

Take a test light to the small wire on the starter and have someone turn it to the start position. If the light lights up and the engine doesn't turn over, I would suspect the starter itself. If the test light doesn't light, try it in neutral and repeat test. If it still doesn't light up, it may be the PRNDL switch or the ignition switch itself.

2000 honda cvic will not start but if you push on the it will try to start but will not stay running

Do you notice anything unusual with the dash lights when you turn the key on. All the warning lights should illuminate. If they do not but then come on as you start to rotate the key into the start position than you probably have a bad ignition switch.

If you turn the key to the start position and hold it there (only do this for a few seconds) will the car stay running until you let go of the key? Another clue that the ignition switch may be bad.

if you turn the key to the start position and the vehicle starts slowly let the key rotate back to the run position until the starter disengages. If the vehicle continues to run let go of the key. If the vehicle stalls than the ignition switch is definitely bad.

No power to ignition or dash or anything but do have interior lights. no clicking and no reactions when key turned. same when i try to jump start it.

First check your fuse box and make sure you don't have blown fuses. If that doesn't tell you anything, you need to check if you are getting 12V to your PCM.

My 94 Taurus will not turn over. Lights work...I replaced starter then ignition switch. Car will not turn over. It has a history of intermittent starting problems. It may or may not start. Now it...

They have a bad ignition problem. Its more than likely the ignition. Turn the key on, Then right below the ignition theres a hole. take a long skinny phillips screw driver and push it up through the hole and you will hit a release for the ignition. Push it up as you pull the ignition out. Then try to start the car with a flat head screwdriver. Write back if that doesn't work but i have a feeling it will.

The car doesn´t start the battery is ok fuees ok

Do you have any check engine lights on? Is your anti-theft light flashing? If so, put key in igniton, turn to on (NOT START) leave in on position for EXACTLY 10 MINUTES
As SOON as theft light turns off, try to start.

There is a problem with your key.
