Question about 2001 Mitsubishi Montero
I disconnected the battery and reconnected the battery the radio wont come on and the key is stuck in the ignition can you please tell me what I need to do to get my key out of the ignition and what code do I use to get the radio to come on?
Well the radio code is an anti-theft issue. you have to take it to the dealership and they get your VIN number and they will retrieve the serial number to your radio. With that they can look up your code. It will cost at least $75 dollars.
Make sure they connect it back up correctly because then if you live in climates that reach under 20 degrees your radio will shut off. or when hit a bump in the winter your radio will shut off and you have to enter the code everytime it goes off.
I have an '01 montero sport XLS. Battery died and I had to experience this the hard way.
